I think it worked very well during the World Cup.

You're all assuming we'll still be in the PL next season.

Gone over it a million times on here. But it causes more issues than it solves and and it completely ruins the spontaneous nature of the game and undermines officials.LoveCurryPies wrote:Why?
Errors are made by refs just as they are by players. Thats just the way the world works.

Excellent assuming it’s used correctly.
For offsides it’s great. Like goal line technology it’s either is or isn’t offside/a goal.
Areas like penalties etc are abit more difficult to judge.

I like VAR and look forward to its implementation.

Whilst I agree slighty with you.cricketfieldclarets wrote:Gone over it a million times on here. But it causes more issues than it solves and and it completely ruins the spontaneous nature of the game and undermines officials.

Refs will be delighted for the help I’m sure. Having a split second to decide something whilst having 356789 HD cameras and 12726 million replys judge by 12443 Pundits and then criticising the decision is unfair.

Would it highliight cheating and would it be used to ban players for doing it? Somehow I think not, at least for the latter.

I wasn't really for it, but let's see how it pans out. No point being staunchly against it I guess until we've given it a go.
Don't think for a minute we'll now have 100% 'right' decisions. The vast majority of big calls will still be a matter of opinion, as they were in Russia.

Therein lies a major issue.NottsClaret wrote: Don't think for a minute we'll now have 100% 'right' decisions. The vast majority of big calls will still be a matter of opinion, as they were in Russia.

As a fan watching it live, i think it will take away some of the emotion of when a goal is scored. In the back of your head you will know there is a chance it could be disallowed.

Think it will go someway to levelling the playing field a little. You never know we might get a penalty awarded via VAR next year, status permitting.

Re: VAR In The PL From Next Season
At last we may get a penalty, but seriously i think it will spoil the game, we as fans wont be able to shout abuse at referees when he makes a wrong decision, which is part of the game for most of us, we have managed for years without it, its going to take excitement out of the game but i suppose it will find out the divers and cheaters.I suppose if it affects the game too much, they can scrap the idea, just my opinion guys.

Re: VAR In The PL From Next Season
I don’t think it should be viewed every few minutes, constantly breaking up the flow of a match. However, in every match there are 2 or 3 crucial decisions that need to be correct.cricketfieldclarets wrote:Gone over it a million times on here. Will the moments in question be shown on the large screen so fans can also see?
