Drinkwater, Moses snd Cahill.
None of these players are not featuring in Sarris plans, signing fees might not be too high, wages could be an issue, a bid for Moses could be fruitful, anyone agree?

Re: Drinkwater, Moses snd Cahill.
Will they want to move to a club who is possibly going to be in a relegation scrap come the end of the season? Will they agree to relegation clauses in their contract? Will they want a wage higher than we're willing to pay them?

Re: Drinkwater, Moses snd Cahill.
Mentioned these on another thread.
Would offer chelsea 100% of Moses and Drinkwaters wages for rest of the season and then try and negotiate a similar deal to the Hart one for next season.
Two very good players who are exactly what we need.

Can't see any of those players ending up at the Turf
even if we were interested in some of them.

Will they want to play for a championship club that wont pay them anywhere near as much as we could?

Drinkwater all day long. But wouldn’t be interested.
Moses is a cheat who I can’t stand.
Cahill isn’t needed

Thats what im trying to get at,why not a cheeky bid for any of them, no harm in asking is there? the bigger clubs wont want any of them so why not throw a bid in the pot?South West Claret. wrote:Well there's a name from the past Drinkwater has hardly featured since he went to Chelsea has he.

Much like when they signed Sidwell, Sinclair and the like.South West Claret. wrote:Well there's a name from the past Drinkwater has hardly featured since he went to Chelsea has he.
Signing up good British players who arent good enough for them but affects the competition.
Re: Drinkwater, Moses snd Cahill.
They will end up at either WHU, Fulham or Everton
Re: Drinkwater, Moses snd Cahill.
All three please.
Re: Drinkwater, Moses snd Cahill.
If we weren't trying to sign ( or they werent willing to come ) the next step up in quality player wise after a 7th placed finish, with European football on offer, then we certainly won't be signing those types in a relegation scrap...
You could foresee what was going to happen many months ago, sadly it maybe a while if ever before we get that chance again.
Sadly standing still usually means you go backwards..

I'd bite Sarri's hand off for Moses

Both Drinkwater and Moses would vastly improve our squad.

Never mind improving the squad, let's start trying to improve the first team, we've gone backwards in the last 12 months.
I'd improve the squad, along with my next door neighbour.
First teamers are what's needed, then the squad automatically improves.
Although all 3 would improve the first team IMO if they were played.

I say squad but include first XI in that.MACCA wrote:Never mind improving the squad, let's start trying to improve the first team, we've gone backwards in the last 12 months.

Re: Drinkwater, Moses snd Cahill.
All three are big names, and would lift the quality. I can think of 4-5 clubs who would take Drinkwater-saw a lot of him watching Leicester and he was a star player when they won the PL. Highly combative and creative-what a waste of talent at Chelsea, at times not even making the bench
My worry is we are not "streetwise" when getting players before they generate interest from other clubs. Would never back us in a two horse race with another PL side in securing a signing right now. The attempted signings of Jay Road , Dawson and Mawson was a shambles. We need to have the right people at BFC who can swoop, not mess about and take players out the market. WE used to do it once when money was less of an issuect ie Ian Wright, Andy Cole, Chris Eagles, Steven Fletcher, Andre Bikey . At the time it gave me a huge buzz as a fan to secure these guys
Maybe focus our sites on the likes of Antonio (can play wide or down the middle), Austin (if he could be persuaded) both not getting a regular start. These two are likely to be less sought after but have a good track record

As Drinkwater?IanMcL wrote:Cork is as good! Defour better.
On Talent Defour possibly is. But Drinkwater would be perfect for us. Good on the ball, combative, brilliant energy.
That said we also need goals from midfield. Drinkwater doesnt bring that. But that is alongside a drinkwater and a moses type we need!
Re: Drinkwater, Moses snd Cahill.
Never satisfied!
Re: Drinkwater, Moses snd Cahill.
Depends how much Drinkwater has dropped off in ability since joining Chelsea, regarding Cork. Before he did he was easily better than Cork is now, not even close.IanMcL wrote:Cork is as good! Defour better.

Re: Drinkwater, Moses snd Cahill.
None are featuring at Chelsea but are they actually for sale?
If it's a question of loans then surely that would suit us better and likewise the players - who must all think they have a PL future.
All three would improve our starting 11 - if it was a question of priorities then Drinkwater tops the list.

Loans don't suit us, the player or the parent club.EarbyClaret wrote:None are featuring at Chelsea but are they actually for sale?

Unless there's emergency cover needed, I doubt we need to bother with them again. Mr Dyche isn't a fan of players on loan.
( obviously loans, where a perminent signing is agreed also is different )

Can see Drinkwater happening. We nearly got him when ranieri didn’t fancy him at the start of their eventual prem title season but injuries forced the tinker man to play him rather than flog him to us and the rest as they say ......

Cahill - good shout as well - nice polite chap whenever in San Carlos
Although not sure we need another centre half what with Kevin getting into his stride

Re: Drinkwater, Moses snd Cahill.
Cahill has been an excellent player. And even now is still probably good enough for us for now at least. But it wouldnt really be logical or a sensible use of money.
We are well stocked there. Its in front of them where the issue lies.

Re: Drinkwater, Moses snd Cahill.
All very experienced players with plenty of Prem experience and would all improve our starting eleven but will prob end up elsewhere
More likely targets for us would be the likes of Solanke, Maitland-Niles, Zinchenko, Diaz, McTominay, Walker-Peters

Re: Drinkwater, Moses snd Cahill.
Would probably take McTominay. Would definitely take Zinchenko, but as daft as it sounds he wouldnt get in. Not because he isnt good enough but its a position we are covered in.jojomk1 wrote:All very experienced players with plenty of Prem experience and would all improve our starting eleven but will prob end up elsewhere

Solanke has done nothing to date to justify coming in and dislodging any of our forward players.

Sorry, but did you see Solanke's goal against Italy this week (everything we need but haven't got)cricketfieldclarets wrote:Would probably take McTominay. To be fair I havent. But I have seen his premier league record which is abysmal.jojomk1 wrote:Sorry, but did you see Solanke's goal against Italy this week (everything we need but haven't got)
He may improve in the future. But I remember him demanding 50k a week at chelsea having never kicked a ball and kind of predicted how his career would likely pan out.
Move to someone daft enough to pay it.
Not make it there.
Move down the levels.
Realise he is already set for life and has no motivation to prove himself.
Fade into obscurity.
Hopefuly i am wrong.
