Re: Burnley v Crewe - Youth Latest
Cricky Conn Clarke? Worth of a place on the bench for his name alone.

Richardson will certainly remember this game! His 5 goals will put him level with Mitch George as second behind Michael Fowler ---all in one game!

Won 6-1 and got confirmation that Richardson is an under 16
EDIT: Hadn’t seen Andingle’s post re Richardson. Was his first start for the u18s.

I’m led to believe that the U16 squad is the best group of young players we’ve had for a very long time.

Five goals for a 15 year old on his u18 debut - that's it, I'm going to call it... this lad is going to be the next Anthony Shandran!

Re: Burnley v Crewe - Youth Latest
on a serious note. 5 goals in a game of football is pretty impressive. For a 15 year old on his debut for the under 18 academy against an academy with the reputation Crewe has or had is some going.
Either that or he is a beast for his age! Plenty of them about at youth level!

Just waiting for a post from ABC in February stating why he should be starting in the first eleven as well as reasons for Tarks or Gibson to be played as a holding midfielder whilst starting both our reserve fullbacks as wingers.Longsidelenny wrote:Sounds like the kid is a good un let’s hope the don’t coach it out of him that’s some debut

A longggggggggggggggg way! But no doubt some on here will be questioning Sean's judgement when the lad's not even on the bench v Newcastle!

I think you meant to say "starting in the first eleven in midfield" ...Goobs wrote:Just waiting for a post from ABC in February stating why he should be starting in the first eleven as well as reasons for Tarks or Gibson to be played as a holding midfielder whilst starting both our reserve fullbacks as wingers.
Re: Burnley v Crewe - Youth Latest
Calm down calm down. A great start for the young lad and against perhaps older opponents although we don't know how many 16 year olds were in Crewe's team.
I do remember Ian Lawson's first few games for us and the thought that we had another Tommy Lawton-alas it proved not to be. More recently we had Danny Sonner banging them in for the Reserves, although he made good as a midfielder not a striker when he moved on from us.
But back to Mr Richardson and very well done young man.

Edit - Just read the article. So not his first appearance for the U18's but it was his first start.

But Jason told you not to look in Manchester.... that you'd not get players.
Well done Lewis.
