Winters first snowfall.

Post by exilecanada » Fri Nov 16, 2018 3:18 pm

Overnight here in SW Ontario we had our first significant snowfall of the winter, somewhat earlier than normal. Going by the accumulation on the top of my car, I’d guess we had about 10 cm of the white stuff. Snow removal guy came about an hour ago, cleaned up my condo parking lot and walkways. I haven’t ventured out and about yet, but my guess is there are a number of accidents out there, as is quite normal after the first winter storm.

You got 10, we got 6 here in north Whitby. That makes me normal, but you're still not in the league of Lukaku.

Our first snowfall as well yesterday. 6 inches, so about 15 cm here just north of Philly.

No. They both refer to different but connected things.
Global warming is the average temperature of the whole planet warming as a result of increased levels of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere. Climate change is a consequence of global warming.

My colleague is just about to fly from San Fran to Montreal, unfortunately his packing was aimed more at the San Fran weather ...

Get out the Skidoos and fire them up, ready for the lakes freezing over. Great fun.

Fire up the sleds, get those ice fishing (aka ice drinking) huts warmed up.

Thirty years since my last visit to Keswick Ontario. They were still installing mains sewage then, putting the poor Honeywaggon guy out of business.

A week and a half or so ago it was predicting Montreal to be considerably warmer.

They’ve probably moved on since then, but they still pronounce Keswick with a hard ‘W’, drives me nuts.

Whatever the term, the result is the same….hotter summers, more rain/snow, more flooding…..etc.

Went to Barrie a couple of times, seemed every other person was from Burnley or Accrington. NB. Blackburn people banned from Canada after failing mental health tests

My brother used to run one of those. It then morphed into a general gardening business. Great way to supplement your income if you're a greedy *******, like him.
