Good, is getting his act together again, it can't have been easy for him at Burnley (as yet!) and the QPR move is a good one.

Rich vein of form, 2 goals in 13 appearances.

QPR mate of mine is absolutely raving about him and really hopes they can sign him permanently. Worried they can't afford his wages though.

If we stay up, then selling him would be an option. If we go down, we'll need him to help us come back up.

We need to cut our losses and offload him.
Not what we need as we have strikers at U23 who are better. It was a blunder paying£5m for him and Huddersfield must have laughed at our guillabilty.

An assumption based on what exactly, he has never been given a chance here. Maybe you could be right who knows, but we are not awash with quality strikers at the moment I mean we have just given Vokes a 3 yr deal - now that’s gullible.

We certainly are not awash with quality strikers but this guy still couldn't get a game when fit (5 mins cameo at best)

The thing about Wells is you can tell hes modest and a good character. So wish him well.

Just a shame it was never going to work. And said same about Vydra myself. Hope im wrong.

We had Barnes, Vokes, Wood, Walters and Wells last season. Wells was probably 5th in line...moving to 4th when Walters got injured.
For a good chunk of the season we played one up front so it’s hardly surprising given how well we did last year that Wells hardly got a chance. SD saw him in training every day though and obviously thought he was not good enough to pick in front of the other strikers.

Just because he has scored a couple for QPR and one from Bermuda does not mean he is all of a sudden good enough to play for us....neither does that mean we are blessed with quality strikers.

I never really understood the signing personally especially for £5m...but I am sure there were good reasons for it that SD does not have to justify to the rest of us.

To be fair he scored his international goal against El Salvador, not exactly Germany. It is also worth pointing out that in the previous game they won 12-0 without him.

Wells was nevet good enough.Based on his few appearances off the bench when he looked poor.
He reminded me of Paddy Poshboy and did nothing to change my opinipn as a poor signing.
Sam Vokes scores vital goals and is s class player

For £5 million it was worth the risk

It has been a strange signing granted but he has probably had 30 mins tops all season, even Messi wouldn't have made an impact with that amount of playing time. Vokes - "class player" give your head a wobble, he will get you the odd goal but that is it, he was great in the championship with Ings but he is way out of his depth in the prem.

No I think it was some pub team from downtown Kinsgton. Actually I think it was Sint Maarten or some such, I think it's an island about the size of Baxenden but less populated.

It was laughingly called an international fixture.

To be fair to them the result against El Salvador was something of a giant killing by Concacaf standards. El Salvador were heavy favourites to win that one.

Really?

I know the price of players has shot up. But gambling on a striker in his mid 20's who has never played at this level and only has an average record at the league below, was injured and running down his contract is not something we should be doing. Regardless of how wealthy we now are.

£5m?

I would definitely have rather invested £5m in the infrastructure of the club.

Again, I have nothing against Wells himself.
