I like Rashford when he's allowed to run at defenders, he's had Croatia at sixes and sevens a number of times already. Reminds me a bit of Michael Owen circa 98 or Rooney in Euro 2004.

Owen and Rooney were both very different. Owen weak but quick and fragile and better inside the box. Rooney a bull, not as quick and better at the edge of the box.

I think he's different to both of them.

I really dislike Southgate as a manager and far too often watching England under his tenure reminds me of his dreadful Middlesbrough side but so far this has been a very good performance by England.

Good pressing, good movement off the ball, mixture of playing styles, disciplined at the back. A bit too inclined to pass it around needlessly at the back but a far cry from those static performances I normally associate with Southgate.

As good as this England side is you can’t bank on the back 4 and goalkeeper to keep clean sheets. It’s a weakness. Still - we should have been a couple of goals up at half time but for wasteful finishing. Will be a difficult task now as Croatia will look to shut us out.

Well they have created plenty of clear cut chances today, and against Spain....and in the World Cup.

When you compare even England's better defenders, such as Stones and Maguire to the likes of Ramos you realise there is still a long way to go if England are to be regular contenders in major tournaments.

We like streetwise players (dirty ones) who know how to get away with things.
