I'm a Celeb
Re: I'm a Celeb
Was utterly and completely uninterested in this thread until I saw Wile E Coyote's name under 'last post'. Worth it. Properly worth the click. Now that's my kind of wall-to-wall cynicism, right there. I love your restaurant-critic-with-severe-marriage-issues style of prose, WEC.
Re: I'm a Celeb
Try reading what I wrote again.Wile E Coyote wrote:another inane comment amongst several, you lot are fans of this slop, when someone posts a topic, dont feel so threatened when a fellow poster diasagrees with you. the usual dregs show up with the fishing remarks, but it never is, you just club together in your smug tiny clique of saps.
The programme is aimed at gawping idiots, so you should all feel right at home. Dont forget to tune in to see what piers morgan has to say about world affairs on monday will you .
Why do you get so abusive whenever I point out that you don’t have to watch / listen to things you don’t like?

Thinking of applying to go on The Chase. Think I would absolutely smash the top prize when Anne is ruled out of The Final Chase on medical grounds...

Great series so far. These last few trials have made me think that maybe all the trials should take place in front of the rest of the campmates - they play to the crowd a lot more.
Harry looks like a great bet for winner.

Re: I'm a Celeb
What I like about this show is no one can keep up a pretence under those circumstances for 2/3 weeks. The real person has to start coming out. I have always said (including on this very thread) that I have always hated 'Arry Redknap, but the more I watch this series the more I have to say I'm actually getting to quite like the man. He's unpretencious, gets stuck in and is actually quite hilarious. I also liked the bit where he said of the trial, 'Course I'm gonna do it, my grandkids are watching'. Great guy, great bunch.
Also I wouldn't might a couple of hours with Rita, she is a very sexy woman. Oops, stop it you perv.

Re: I'm a Celeb
Just on 'Arry, wasn't his defence for that tax jobie that he couldn't read? He doesn't seem to be having too much trouble with the instruction sheets in there.
Re: I'm a Celeb
Agree about Harry - I never liked him and have seen close up that he definitely has another side to him. He's also shown that the pressure of a football manager and losing can bring out the worst in him.houseboy wrote:What I like about this show is no one can keep up a pretence under those circumstances for 2/3 weeks. In this though he has come across as a decent bloke who is good company and like you say good sense of humour. He is due to be on one of the "I`ll get this" programmes on BBC2 on Tuesdays...which will probably show the same side of him we are seeing now.
Still cynical that anybody who ever goes in is doing it to simply carve out the next part of their career or rebrand themselves into something new. Part of me thinks Harry is doing this aswell but then again not sure he needs the money or has any desire to launch a new TV career like the rest of them.

Definitely. Anne wouldve failed yesterday if she was on her own. Dont think its so much playing up in her case more the support. But the head to heads with likes of nick will always be competetive.Falcon wrote:Great series so far. Was wondering why you think Sair is false? For me she's barely had any screentime in which to make me form an opinion of her at all.

Re: I'm a Celeb
I think that is normally the case but many of this lot are quite current and don't need the proverbial leg up to their career. Barrowman is never short of work and the guy out of Hollyoaks and the girl out of Coronation St are okay workwise. 'Arry doesn't need it. Nick Knowls is probably okay and Edmonds needs nothing at his age. Perhaps Rita is looking for work but if she is struggling I could certainly find something for her to do.TVC15 wrote:Agree about Harry - I never liked him and have seen close up that he definitely has another side to him. I have a little bet with my wife that Sair will be the first to go. Nothing wrong with her but she has been a bit 'anonymous'.cricketfieldclarets wrote:Definitely. They cant keep up a facade for so long especially when so hungry and tired. They all seem genuine with the exception of Sair to me.
Three front runners for me are:
Redknapp
Edmonds
Barrowman
(with a little nod in the direction of Knowls)
Can't see any of the grils doing it this time.

She hasnt been on much thats fair enough. Just a few small things. Like she overly laughed at things that werent intended to be funny and just a few snippets. I am probably wrong. We probably wont see enough to know. Will probably be her voted out first followed by Maliq.Falcon wrote:Was wondering why you think Sair is false? Maybe Malique saving himself from the ignominy if his rapping exploits got him down with the cool kids.

Hence why Fleur isn't appearing on any of the 'first to go' predictions despite being black.

Hey bud I've thought of isms that could be used as an excuse for none to be voted out:FactualFrank wrote:Some will suggest it's racist if they go out first and second.
Malique = Racist
Sair = Racist
Fleur = Mixed-racist
John = Homophobism
Harry = Ageist
Noel = Ageist
Anne = fattist and disablist (is that even a word?)
James = Nobodyist
Nick = Beardist
Rita & Emily = Fitbirdist. (this could also apply to Sair so she will NEVER leave).
There you go - they daren't fire anyone. It'll go on forever.

I have to say I was thrown by the voting for tonight's trial.
Essentially the two dullest celebrities got picked. Presumably the public want to see them actually get off their arses and do something useful.

Re: I'm a Celeb
I am quite looking forward to tonight's task though, as Sair was pretty good with the green ants in her only trial so far, but Malique was big time panicking every time he's had to do anything involving critters.
Although it looks like an eating trial this time rather than one involving live creatures.
Given Holly and Dec said something like, "poor things, it's the worst one ever," at the close of last night's show, I'm expecting something utterly disgusting.

Falcon, I think they previewed what the trial was, before the lines were open for people to vote? And like you mentioned, it was the eating one where they get eat to alsorts of delightful delicacies and body parts.

Probably to see if they have anything to offer. Its probably a good thing for both as the trial may give them a reason to be voted to stay in. Might be bad news for James though...Falcon wrote:I have to say I was thrown by the voting for tonight's trial.

Strange, the youngsters are all the least involved... perhaps they cant socialise without their mobiles!!!
It may just be ITV Showing what they want to show, but the three of them all seem to lack anything in character.
