Killing Eve

Post by Healeywoodclaret » Tue Nov 20, 2018 6:13 pm

I know this 8 part series has been and gone. Apologies if it has already been discussed. Far fetched in the extreme but compulsive viewing. Absolutely fascinating I thought. Did anyone watch it? What did you think?

Another series ruined by being left open to a follow up.
I’ve enjoyed The Truth About The Harry Quebert Affair because it came to a conclusion with all the ends tied up. It was also well made and acted.

Killing Eve was great; Informer was even better. Two great dramas from the Beeb in recent weeks.

Villanelle completely barking and brilliantly portrayed by Jodie Comer, what an actress.
So deliciously, darkly funny.

I thought it started really strongly but tailed off as the series went on. I don’t think I bothered with the last episode.

Great actor in the lead role though. You’d never think she was a scouser in real life!

Have to say I quite enjoyed this , though you have to buy into the ridiculousness of it and forget any pretence of reality .Quite well acted and I like the chinky bird . As with most tv these days it’s made for the female market but still good tv , I was hoping they’d wrap it in one series though as these sagas don’t tend to get better down the line . It has a feel of being made for the international market ( though I guess that’s the way they get funded)

Only 25 years old. Very talented actress and definitely one to watch in the future. I saw a YouTube video that she did at the end if series one. Strong scouse accent which was funny to watch after all the different accents she did on the show including the clipped English accent. But she did pull all those comical expressions in real life which was funny to watch!

I think it was shown in America first. Apparently they are filming series two but I do wonder where they can take it now. At first I thought not sure the plot is grabbing me female assassin but got told to watch it. It was different and I really enjoyed it.

Great series although the most unrealistic bit was the bloke appearing to fancy Eve!

Enjoyed it but I thought their was probably two episodes too many where the plot just didn’t change. So I can see a second series being laboured like most of these things are second time around.

I thought the Informer was bang average.I have seen Paddy Considine give far better character portrayals than that.

The best TV most recently was The Bodyguard but that was let down by a poor finale considering the magnificent build up.

I enjoyed The Bodyguard as well. The only bits I've seen of Killing Eve, is when it's shown on Gogglebox :D

It was brilliant, as was Bodyguard. Now finally catching up with Line Of Duty on Netflix and I've added Informer to my list now. Love a BBC drama.

New Line of Duty next year, I think. That’s a brilliant series.

Decent shout for Informer as well , the Asian guy in the lead was v good , though it helps if you understand London Patois/Jive . The finale was a bit of a stinker imo but didn’t detract from damn good entertainment overall . It just about stayed on the right side of not being too preachy as well .Only bit I thought dreadful was the Indian woman ridiculously overplaying the “ generic Asian/Pakistani mum” which was right out of a 70’s sit com.
