As much as Tony Benn was an enthralling speaker, he WAS the enemy. Quite like his son though, even if he is a remainer. If my memory serves me right, Tony Benn was as anti EU as JRM though for different reasons maybe.

I don't like the name calling either. Let's look at his voting record instead, and decide from that what kind of MP he is (or indeed what kind of PM he might make):

It doesn't give you the complete picture of the man, but there are some general trends that hint toward his political inclinations. I would draw your attention most to the fact he's rich and never suffered poverty, yet consistently voted against helping people who are poor. When it comes to asking the rich to bear more of a burden, his human side comes out, and he says "no"

He's a rich man in parliament, looking after the interests of rich people.

He’s a hardline catholic as well as a hardline Brexiteer. May explain his voting record on social issues - as well as his six kids!

You are clearly unfamiliar with the old adage about political party conferences, " If you want a few drinkies and the chance of a little " extra-curricular " activity, then attend the Conservative conference, but if you want to gorge yourself & eat and drink like a King, with free flowing Champagne, then Labour is the conference for you "
