I'm going to go out on a limb here, and say he might know a bit more about his squad than we do.
I know its wild and crazy to think he might be an expert but hey, I'm in that sort of mood

In BOYS’ case an ‘ex’ is a has been, and a ‘spurt’ is a drip under pressure. Kind of sums him up.

We'll see the extent of our "recovery" on Monday, no need to set himself up to be shot down should we fail to impress.

Best way to deal with these sorts of OPs is just to ignore them. They'd drop off the bottom of the front page in no time.

I think Dyche comes across as an idiot with that statement - he will still be on about it next year.
Get over it we failed and planned so badly for it when we had 3 months to prepare and get players in but waited for the magic duo to re appear and still waiting and its almost xmas.

Re: We are finally over
You only need to play 4 extra games over a season to reach the FA Cup final, and it's often suggested that it can damage a league campaign. And yet the idea playing 6 extra games, during pre-season all over Europe, will disrupt a season is a 'load of crap'.

Re: We are finally over
No real need for Sean Dyche to bring Europa up especially not 3 months after we got knocked out.
We haven’t played well this season that much is obvious but by hyperboling it down to one specific reason is dangerous. If we are crap in the next few matches does he look closer to home ?
I’m hoping that with him being a disciple to the stats that the point he is subtly making is that the stats on the training pitch are finally at the levels he expects them to be at and this transfers itself to performances on the pitch.

I have to agree that there seems little point in bringing up something that happened 3 months ago. Just hoping he doesn't make any reference to an FA Cup semi final that occured in 1974 that we really should be over by now.

Re: We are finally over
You know what is worrying?
People not getting that its perfectly possible for the players to have needed time to have got over the Europa league disappointment and disruption.
And lets not forget, the 2nd leg v Olympiakos we were completely dominant and the players know full well they should have taken their chances.

In one answer - yes a load of crap when we are still recovering in November - remember its almost December but keep the tinted specs on pal.NottsClaret wrote:You only need to play 4 extra games over a season to reach the FA Cup final, and it's often suggested that it can damage a league campaign. The OP has never seemed to garner any pleasure at all from watching Burnley FC. One has to wonder why he even bothers?
Re: We are finally over
Are you employed as the manager of a Premier League Club....... thought not.... yet you feel you can comment on one that is.BOYSIE31 wrote:So he is an expert football manager after 7 years in the job and 1st time in a europe campaign ?
Really i am 30 years employed in the same position but still would not call myself an expert as still learning.
Listen to Sean Dyche and he will tell you he is learning every day........
I spent 30ish years in paper manufacturing .... From a labourer at 16 to Shift supervisor in my mid 40's, and the last 12 before I retired as a Locksmith (self employed) selling the business to retire at 58.
I wouldn't presume to tell Sean Dyche he isn't knowing how to do his job .... or expect him to have told me mine (although I did once have someone tell me I wasn't doing mine right so I passed him the tools and said show me. About an hour later the tools were passed back and the gentleman in question went back inside letting me get on with my job, needless to say he paid the full bill including an extra hours labour)
You have done (you say) 30 years in the same job. (obviously you are a slow learner)... sweeping up possibly......

No not really i just find it a very strange statement from our manager to make in November and no doubt will hear more next year.ClaretTony wrote:When I saw who had started the thread I expected it to be a load of crap. Just a very very strange statement as though blame everything on Europe and not him even if we do get relegated.
But i knew what you would reply with as club cant do NO wrong in your eyes.
I bet you even supported the free work from the club on match days.

Re: We are finally over
It can be interpreted different ways by all different people, I would imagine he means the European adventure hindered the famous full on pre-season which usually has us at the front in fitness and stamina, and are usually out of blocks the fastest,
This year we have lacked it, the pressing, the tracking back, the concentration levels .. Would it be fair to say that having
a short pre-season with competitive games (including extra times ) is still having an effect ?

Why shouldn’t it? Clubs year after year are considered to suffer from being in the Europa League and none of them have had to play on six successive Thursdays during pre and early season.Silkyskills1 wrote:I think it would be fair to say that it shouldn't.

30 years in the same position apparently ..... what that position is is unknown .... probably menial judging by his insults. I think Boysie's life experience is a lot less than most on here Damo......
Just my opinion (but I feel its also the opinion of a helluva lot more too)

To be fair after another 2 week break and Defour and Brady back fit then there's not many excuses left. It's time we started performing because up to now it has been extremely poor.
