SD Eibar

Post by nyclaret » Sat Nov 24, 2018 2:11 pm

Fan-owned Spanish club just beat Real Madrid 3-0. The city of Eibar has a population of 27,000. They're currently sitting 7th in the table and wear claret and blue!! Sound familiar?

Serious problems at Real,Zidane picked the right time to bail out, seems unthinkable but could they finish outside the top 4 in La Liga,if it can happen to Man Utd then it can happen to them.

Didn't they win 4 games on the bounce before this defeat? I read somewhere, it's the best start of any new manager in the history of Real Madrid. And they're only 4 points from top. The media are trying to create problems that don't really appear to be there.

That's true but they have thrown some in this season, big game just started Atletico vs Barca,Atletico can go top with victory.

Incredibly tight just 5/6 points splitting the top six.

Followed this teams fortunes for a while. Yes fan owned. Many fans who.have left the place after the local industry went down but have been successful elsewhere. Poor place really, in the mountains in Basque country. Ground capacity has been increased to 6500. Maybe we should be looking at one or two if their players.

It's a lovely ground for spectating, though we're perhaps a bit too late for possibly their best player? We watched them playing a pre-season friendly against Athletic Bilbao 15 - 20 years ago and I recall noting that they had a young midfielder called Xabi Alonso who looked a good prospect.

See what I mean? Maybe we - you and I should scout for us in Spain. I spend time there in my place and maybe should put it to better use. Alonso. What a player he was.
