I think he's the best heavyweight at this moment in time. He's not the brightest, but he does enough to win when it matters.

Re: Tyson Fury.
I'd like him to win but I think,' like Hatton', you cant let yourself go between fights and get back to as you were .
I'd like to be wrong and I think he may have ragged a chicken legged Wilder about a bit if he'd been active with genuine fights in the last 2 years.
Like to be wrong,as I said, but I think he'll get caught .

Re: Tyson Fury.
I think Tyson talks the talk and walks the walk. Ricky Hatton didn't really make much effort to talk any talk - other than talking about his next fried breakfast. He never pretended that he was the best, because he knew he wasn't.BleedingClaret wrote:I'd like him to win but I think,' like Hatton', you cant let yourself go between fights and get back to as you were .

Re: Tyson Fury.
He’s actually a very good master of of boxing indeed his technical skill and movement is at least as good as AJ .
He may be big daft boorish gypsy with rather traditional attitudes but he’s a far better technical defensive boxer than Wilder ( beast that Wilder is ) I personally think Fury will stop an exhausted DW late on . DW is a brutal puncher but he thrives against toe to toe sluggers and if Vlad couldn’t hurt him I can’t see it here . It’s got the ingredients of a great fight though and this pair of unbeaten beasts should serve up real contest

Re: Tyson Fury.
I find it odd that people (usually the hardcore boxing fans) are lightning quick to criticise AJ but think the sun shines out of Tyson's behind. Although Klitschko was a few years younger, he did not turn up to his fight against Tyson and was much more front foot against AJ. That said, Fury was very clever and deserved the plaudits for that fight. But all in all, his fights are usually fairly dull and his opponents prior to Wlad were:
Hammer
Chisora
Abell
Cunningham
Kevin Johnson
These were Fury's 19th to 23rd fights. AJ has not even had 23 fights (!), and has fought Klitschko, Parker, Whyte, Povetkin and Takam.
There's nothing to suggest via the tests he's had, a p*ss poor Wlad aside, that he's the best heavyweight. Saturday should be very interesting!

I think Klitschko tried his best against Fury - it was Fury who made it look easy, and didn't really break sweat.willsclarets wrote:I find it odd that people (usually the hardcore boxing fans) are lightning quick to criticise AJ but think the sun shines out of Tyson's behind. Re: Tyson Fury.
Could be the case, but everybody seems to discount the possibility the Wlad had a terrible day too. The only round he even tried to throw punches was the 12th. I think the rematch could've been different, and it's a shame it didn't happen because that would've answered a few questions for me. I don't believe for one minute Fury is on a completely different level to a man who dominated the heavyweight division for a decade and won a gold medal at the Olympics. I imagine Tyson himself couldn't believe how easy it was.
Not saying Fury isn't the real deal, he's undeniably talented and impossibly tricky. But for me he needs more outings against the elite fighters, of which so far he's had one, to prove he's the best.

Re: Tyson Fury.
Some interesting comments from Fury regarding his earnings. Whether he's true to his word is enothing thing, but he says he's going to give it all away to the poor.
He also says,
"It's easy to spend someone else's money and the money I've earned is practically blood money. My kids have to make their own living and make their own way in life; they won't be living off my name or reputation because that's too easy a route.
"You see many of these rich people's kids doing nothing because they had it too easy. I never had it easy, I had to work for whatever I got. I was working from very young, everything I wanted in life I had to work for."

Re: Tyson Fury.
Hmmm I'll believe it when I see it but if he does then fair play because not many would do that. Muhammed Ali said something similar after the Joe Frazier fight in Manila (or a fight around that time) but he earned a heck of a lot afterward and didn't give all of it away. That said, Ali was taken to the cleaners by those around him and was ridiculously poor with managing money!

He’s full of it! He’s quietly buying huge amounts of property in the Lancaster area, he’s a savvy businessman, or he’s well advised.

The Fury family have never been short of a few bob. I used to do business with his Uncle Peter back in the late 80s, he had plenty of money and was always good to deal with, as long as you were straight with him.Danieljwaterhouse wrote:He’s full of it! Schwarz wasn't very good, that didn't stop Fury looking outstanding against him though. On that form he embarrasses Wilder in a rematch.

Watched a post fight interview on you tube.I thought Tyson spoke well and very sensible and honest. I know he has come across as a clown with issues on other occasions but I’ve come to like him and feel he can win a rematch with Wilder.

On BT again prior to the Wilder Fight....looks really strong and Solid. Wilder looks Athletic and Muscular....But them Legs of his Look unnaturally thin. one Solid punch from Tyson could have him dancing like Bambi though. Gonna be a great fight. Who Dares Wins! A tough one to call.

Love the guy, he doesn’t hide his problems and that documentary showed how unstable he is, how can you not want him to do well.

Re: Tyson Fury.
You’d think it was Joe Bugner ( now) fighting DW from some of the comments on here . As for people thinking because DW has “ chicken legs” he could go down easily is almost beyond parody Fury is an absolute beast with remarkable boxing skills for a giant . He’s sensibly had couple of fights inc a right old grind against Wallin. Fury also hasn’t had to lose huge amounts of weight like he did going into the first DW fight . Wilder knew he’d been outclassed in the last fight which may have a bearing . Fury all day for me but DW has a punch from the gods
Ultimately any man who “strengthens his jaw” before a fight with pussy licking gets my vote !
