Re: Tyson Fury.
Joshua is just a big strong boy with an Amir Khan-Esque chin and poor stamina. His offensive boxing is good but has very poor defence. Anyone who moves will give Joshua massive problems. Fury is a massive Problem for Joshua.AlargeClaret wrote: ↑Fri Feb 14, 2020 9:09 amActually he wouldn’t , as AJ would have to take the fight to Fury and it would likely be a war of attrition and a very messy one at that
Fury can take a shot but is a smart fighter and chooses to box.
For me Fury’s gameplan for Wilder has to be keep moving in the first 3/4 rounds and draw the right hand as often as possible and make him miss. Once he starts being more selective when letting his right hand go get in close and tie him up, lean on him, bang the body and push his head back with the forearm. Sap the energy then go for the finish in the last few rounds.
Wilder is what he is and cannot change. He’s not a good boxer at all but does have Thor’s hammer of a right hand, quick recovery and good athleticism.
Re: Tyson Fury.
He used a gym to do some filming in roasendale not to long ago. Very arrogant by all accounts.

Re: Tyson Fury.
Agreed. AJ also goes down or at least wobbles with each big hitter he's faced. Fury isn't necessarily a big hitter butI think he'd cause issues for AJ. I hope that happens, not a big AJ fan myself (although if he were to fight Wilder I'd root for him)Right_winger wrote: ↑Fri Feb 14, 2020 10:43 amJoshua is just a big strong boy with an Amir Khan-Esque chin and poor stamina. Re: Tyson Fury.
Anywhere in Burnley showing the fight on Sat night/Sun morning?
Re: Tyson Fury.
If Fury has his right head on, then only a power shot, out of the blue, will stop him.
If he wins, he will win against Joshua.
Joshua is a nice guy but soft, whereas Fury grew up the hard way.

Re: Tyson Fury.
There wont be a Joshua v Fury fight in the near future unfortunately as I'm sure Fury is signed up for a fight trilogy against Wilder
Re: Tyson Fury.
yeah theres a rematch clause, which the loser could activate. Worth knowing that Fury has 2 fights left on his ESPN contract after the Wilder fight but hasnt got a BBBofC licence to box in this country,so any possible AJ fight would have to be in the USA

Think them Legs are gonna go.go gone!!AlargeClaret wrote: ↑Fri Feb 14, 2020 9:27 amYou’d think it was Joe Bugner ( now) fighting DW from some of the comments on here . As for people thinking because DW has “ chicken legs” he could go down easily is almost beyond parody Fury is an absolute beast with remarkable boxing skills for a giant . He’s sensibly had couple of fights inc a right old grind against Wallin. Fury also hasn’t had to lose huge amounts of weight like he did going into the first DW fight . Wilder knew he’d been outclassed in the last fight which may have a bearing . Fury all day for me but DW has a punch from the gods
Ultimately any man who “strengthens his jaw” before a fight with pussy licking gets my vote !

Last Wilder v Fury fight Fury was jittery and awkward. Clearly not at his best
Tonight he was at his best. That was a masterclass. By far the best out there. AJ won’t stand a chance

Absolutely outstanding from The Gypsy King. There isn't a cat in hell's chance Joshua would beat him on tonight's evidence.

He’s fighting bright, Frank. Like Ali and Conor McGregor he beats them in the pre-fight with the banter. They don’t know what to expect from him. Haven’t seen the fight yet but he prepares himself for each opponent and it works.FactualFrank wrote: ↑Sat Nov 24, 2018 9:59 pmI think he's the best heavyweight at this moment in time. Absolutely outstanding from Fury. He has every single attribute in his locker.
If Anthony Joshua can be given an OBE, can Fury be knighted when he beats him, or do we only give those out to reformed drug dealer boxers?

Wilder got very unfortunate with the ear, fair play to him for carrying on but from that point Fury was in complete control.
I'd like to see another rematch.

Re: Tyson Fury.
Tyson should have been given the win in the first fight, and clearly was far better in the second. Not sure another rematch would make sense other than the money for both fighters. The rematch has happened and Fury won it.

Re: Tyson Fury.
Must admit after the length of time he was out and having been to watch his comeback fight I thought his best years were done. How anyone can come back from depression and years out and ballooning in weight to have a decent career is beyond me. But to then go onto defeat the undefeated world champion in the style that he did was unbelievable.
I thought Wilder had a chance.... Until the ring walks. The walk to the ring was a strange one. But he couldn’t look at Fury in the ring. The fight was won and lost there.

Re: Tyson Fury.
There's a lot of ignorant people about and they would believe it's not possible to be depressed when you have what he has: the money, the fame, a nice wife, kids etc. I hope he's educated a lot of people in that it's nothing at all to do with that.
I've always liked him since he came to prominence as yeah, he's cocky, but you need that if you're going to be the best boxer on the planet.
Coming back from his depression will have been a much tougher challenge than coming back from his excess weight and fitness.

The walk to the ring was a huge display of Wilders insecurity and Fury's was a display of frailties and coming back from a dark place. Fury's entrance cracked me up. You can't help but love and laugh at how the guy carries himself so well.
I think he's cocky and perhaps sometimes arrogant because he feels he has to be that way.

Great performance by Fury, but let's be honest Wilder isn't much of a boxer.
He had a punchers chance but was outclassed in both fights.
Far tougher opponents await him.
