So, 20,000 people inconvenienced and those watching on tv.
Hope the guys ok but does it really mean that the KO is delayed

Re: KO delayed by 30 mins
Do we now have to give the refeeres assessor £5 million?
Does there have to be an assessor present for the game to go ahead? What happens in lower/non league games?
Maybe if there was no assessor we’d actually get given a penalty.

And? If a group of fans are involved in a crash before a game or there is traffic issues as most of the time when playing in London due to strikes and the like no game is ever delayed. Regardless whether he has gone to hospital or not we should not be delaying games for a referees assessor being taken illpaulatky wrote:Someone has collapsed and been taken to hospital.

Girlfriend calls me at 7.45pm and I'm typing this, whilst still trying to get her off the bloody phone. Whilst also multi-tasking with listening to David Ginola thinking we drive on the right.

Re: KO delayed by 30 mins
A schoolmate of mine gets to a lot of PL games as he mates out with Mick McGuire, ex Coventry and Norwich, who is a refs assessor. I’m hoping it’s not him.

Not for this game.thelaughingclaret wrote:Do we now have to give the refeeres assessor £5 million?

He’d already marked Taylor’s card as 1/10.

Yes, Eddie Wolstenholme was taken ill, but it was an emergency situation in the tunnel area. Given that information, I would think getting the appropriate medical people to him would have been considered far more important than getting people onto the pitch. 20,000 inconvenienced, so what?

After events such as the recent Glen Hoddle cardiac arrest health must always come first. Cancel the game if it interferes with the health and well-being of any person

Re: KO delayed by 30 mins
It was Eddie Wolstenholme.
A very good referee in his day and a very good assessor and you could not hope to meet a nicer bloke.
He is from Blackburn.

Re: KO delayed by 30 mins
How do you know he’s a very good assessor? I’m not questioning whether he is or not, just curious as to how you’d come to that conclusion and who you’re comparing against.
Often been intrigued by the role of the referees assessor, especially considering how poor some referees are.

Re: KO delayed by 30 mins
It is undoubtedly the only consideration. Worth mentioning Hoddle too. It all went quiet afterwards but this weekend came some very positive news that he's back home and doing well.MRG wrote:After events such as the recent Glen Hoddle cardiac arrest health must always come first. As for assessing, not sure we know how ref assessing actually works to be honest.

I have inside information as to how assessors are assessed having two close relations working for the FA.DCWat wrote:How do you know he’s a very good assessor? I’m not questioning whether he is or not, just curious as to how you’d come to that conclusion and who you’re comparing against.

And without that you just know from years of knowing somebody that they are 'good' at their job. And he is.
A top bloke and hope he gets back to full fitness soon.

Re: KO delayed by 30 mins
Was the lack of an assessor the reason why Taylor's performance was so appalling ?
