First half he was decent, second half he was the Aaron Lennon I have come to expect.

He's a victim of our sideways and backwards football. You cannot expect our wingers to do much when they get the ball so deep with so many opposition players back in their shape.

Yep. Lump, lump, lump. Not once did we try to get round the back.

One cross in the game from Lennon
Compared to -
Taylor 3
Lowton 8
Brady 3

Don't blame Lennon. Blame Cork and Defour. The only time we look half-threatening is when we by-pass the midfield and lob balls directly at the front two (for Wood to mess up.)

There’s only one person to blame for the position Aaron Lennon is in when he receives the ball, and that is Aaron Lennon. If every time your full back gets the ball, you, as a winger, run TOWARDS him, then wtf is your full back supposed to do? There was acres of space down our right in the first half, but he was only ever interested in running towards then bee hole end. I was hoping he'd do the same in the 2nd half, fickle ******* started going the other way....

Brady is just coming back after 12 months off. Doesn’t excuse his terrible performance, but Lennon has been doing this since he arrived. Like road runner when tracking back though, think that keeps you in the shirt.

One moment in the first half Lennon worked back won the ball and it deflected into Vokes. Vokes had one option to lay it back to Cork who was free but at that very point Lennon had the opportunity to tear arse into acres of space down the right wing., He just stood still I found that very disappointing. I’m sure SD doesn’t discourage somebody running into acres of space to get behind the defence.

Sorry, autocorrect added an L to the end of that for the only player we have whose name is close to McNeill/McNeil ..........

I can see where the confusion occurred for you though.

I was annoyed he didn’t grasp that opportunity - It did seem like Dyche made Trippier stop running down the line further though when we got promoted which frustrated a lot of people. He used to get to the half way line and just stop.

Thought Lennon is being hard done by. He’s clearly being told to cover his full back defensively. If he does that he’s getting hammered if he didn’t 100% he’d get hammered, the man can’t win.

The most frustrating player at the club. Constantly makes the wrong decision, never makes a decent angle for the centre mid to hit him early. Makes Hollywood runs that only de bruyne could find him with.

Hardly uses his pace when there is free space in front of him, always comes short when in situations where he needs to pull out of the full backs space, goes missing often defensively when his brain just switches off.

I’ve said it before, he is a 20 min impact sub at best. He has qualities but he’s a liability as a starter
