He thinks we deserved something? I would have been embarrassed taking a point from that game tonight.

If that performance is acceptable standards have slipped dramatically.

Dyche isn’t helping with his comments though. Very poor tonight yet he claims we were very good. Newcastle better in every department. The type of performance from them that we used to get from us.

Re: post match interview v Newcastle
a fair score tonight would have been 1-4
Re: post match interview v Newcastle
Horseshit from beginning to end.
Re: post match interview v Newcastle
Not spot on. If he can’t see the lack of creativity and chances the team is creating because of his rigid style of play (pass to each wing in turn then pass it to Ben to lump it forwards) then we have no chance. Where is the pace down the wings? Lennon, Brady and Taylor had it in spades when we signed them, now they are turning to play it backwards.

I’m not sure what you are expecting from a Dyche interview ..he says the same thing pretty much every week. Although he used to touch his face less

If SD wants us to play slow tedious football, with little creativity of fluency, then he’s right we played well.

He does most of the same things every week. Perhaps that’s become the problem.Papabendi wrote:I’m not sure what you are expecting from a Dyche interview ..he says the same thing pretty much every week. Although he used to touch his face less

I always get the impression Dyche has been snorting cocaine with the way he's always playing with his noseBarry_Chuckle wrote:If SD wants us to play slow tedious football, with little creativity of fluency, then he’s right we played well.
This was a reply to Papabendi sorry Barry chuckle
Re: post match interview v Newcastle
Starting to look massively out of his depth for me.
Re: post match interview v Newcastle
you have to give it to SD he rarely has a go at his squad in public but I cannot believe he really thinks what he has just said.
It may be he is coming to the end of his tenure. for sure we now are largely a lump it forward team and that will NOT keep you in this league.
We need some speed and a bit of skill please Sean.

Re: post match interview v Newcastle
Agree.. Defour is passed it his legs have gone. Neither him or Cork can drive the team forward from CM. The lack of investment in the last 2 transfer windows is really starting to come home now, with the likes of Westwood on the bench who is a mediocre championship player.Woodleyclaret wrote:Dire all over.Defour and Brady particularly poor.Pass and move totally non exsistent
Time for Dyche to introduce Hendrick to his rightful role and send Defour out to grass

You need to try spec savers Coyote. Defour has been poor since he came back into the side, he no longer has the legs to play in the Premier leagueWile E Coyote wrote:and you can follow him, utter trash top claret, woeful in fact.

mindless post from a non footballer poster who is evidently clueless about genuine talent.Top Claret wrote:You need to try spec savers Coyote. Defour has been poor since he came back into the side, he no longer has the legs to play in the Premier league

Defour ran most of the midfield and found many passes.

I agree he can pick a pass but he does not offer enough at this level.IanMcL wrote:Defour ran most of the midfield and found many passes.
We need a player with drive and pace who can give and go and attack the opposition, Defour can't do this due to his fitness issues.
Dyche took him off after 80 minutes and quite frankly he was running out of steam after 60 and should have been pulled.
Defour is passed it now and can't play a 2 man Centre mid. To get any benefits from him, he needs to be playing in a 3 man CM

Westwood a Championship player?
That would pitch most of our squad at League One level then.

Re: post match interview v Newcastle
You can't expect the manager to slate his players on TV.
Inside the dressing room, SD will know that the level of performance was not acceptable. However, he is partly to blame himself.
Newcastle set up exactly the same as Huddersfield and completely nullified the threat from SD's favored 4-4-2 formation.
We've got ball players in midfield, we have no pace up front. These are games we cannot afford to lose.
It became clear very early on that Newcastle were more than comfortable against our set-up, yet it lasted until 80th minute before we made any change.
I would personally play an extra man in midfield (with a number 10) because that is the one area where we can compete technically.
