The most worrying thing
We have played 7 of the other 9 teams in the bottom half
We have beaten just one of them. The worse of them all. Cardiff!
We have conceded 13 goals in those 7 games.
With the possible exceptions of Cardiff and Huddersfield they will all be backed in January.
The only plus side is when it comes to our last 4 games of Chelsea, City, Everton and Arsenal we will probably be already out of our misery anyway.
How the **** have we let ourselves get into this position?

Re: The most worrying thing
Just said on another thread, those 3 points at Cardiff look even more important now...we'd be rock bottom otherwise. We were worse against them than we were tonight against Newcastle but still, in my opinion, would have been lucky to get a point performance wise. Horrible position right now and we need some serious investment in January to freshen up the squad. We might have more depth than we've ever had under Dyche but it's like for like and that's not what we need now.

I honestly don't see a way out of it. The run in at the end of the season will finish us off if we even make it that far.

Re: The most worrying thing
We got outplayed by Fulham, Cardiff, Huddersfield and lost tonight too.
If we pick up enough points over the season then we’ve had a great escape but that fact remains that the teams around us have looked very good when playing us.

Re: The most worrying thing
Hopefully the technical director appointment hasn't been made too late but it's worrying. Look at the players we were heavily linked with in the summer and there's even less chance of them coming to the club now (WBA are doing well in the Championship). On tonight and the rest of the seasons performances we're desperately crying out for a bit of creativity and pace in midfield and up top. I just cannot see enough goals in our current strikers to keep us up this season.cricketfieldclarets wrote:This summers business was as bad if not worse than The Marney Jones january!
Re: The most worrying thing
Agree with poster above about us being outplayed by the other bottom teams. We are the worst team in the league that I have seen.

It has been coming since the New Year and if you want to know what happens here on in look at WBA in 16-17 season and then 17-18 season. We are mirroring their results almost to a T.

Re: The most worrying thing
The new technical director can sign all the players he wants, the manager has to play them. Vydra could very well be filed under Vossen or wells category....not over 6ft, no use to Dyche which I find absolutely bonkers considering his goal record
