Big screen tonight
Why was the clock wrong so many times in the 2nd half.
Jumped from 50 odd minutes to 70 then back again.
I was only trying to work out when the game would finish after the delay but it kept playing funny beggars.

I got excited when it was beaming out 0-0 at HT .... thought we were starting again for the 2nd 45 mins.Quickenthetempo wrote:Why was the clock wrong so many times in the 2nd half.

Re: Big screen tonight
The new screen must be twice the size of the old one but the font is just as small. Reading the sub list was nigh on impossible. No clock for most of the game, incorrect score (and scorer) - is it the same bloke that does the programme?

It went off for a while in the first half and only had one goal scorer when 0-2.

It also seemed to take an age for the scores to be recorded. Does someone need to go on a training course? Also what has happened to the sound system. It sounded like Norman Collier was making the announcements.

Re: Big screen tonight
The sound system in the Bob Lord has been faulty for the last few home games. Shouldn’t be difficult to fix but it is rather indicative of Burnley’s inability to get the simple things right.

Obviously, we experienced an issue with the scoreboard and timer software in the first half, we're going to work on fixing it this week.
When you say it jumped from 50 mins to 70 mins... can you go into more detail about what you saw?
Did anyone else see this?

Can't see through the side of the stand though. Maybe if they cleaned it up a bit ehPaintYorkClaretnBlue wrote:The bloody big thing to your right and side.

Re: Big screen tonight
I just presumed the 6 wasn't working for the 60 minute so showed up like it went back to 50 minutes from 59 and then the 2nd time skipped from 59 (should of been 69) to 70.claptrappers_union wrote:Obviously, we experienced an issue with the scoreboard and timer software in the first half, we're going to work on fixing it this week.

As others have said it read 0-0 at halftime for the score and didn't show the goal symbol next to all the scorers.
Also I couldn't make out the team line up from the CF stand before the game. Font size needs increasing.

Re: Big screen tonight
Thanks for this. The system was reset at half time so that why the score went back to 0-0 for a while. The goal symbol wasn't shown straight away because we were trying to fix the scoreboard issue at the time.I just presumed the 6 wasn't working for the 60 minute so showed up like it went back to 50 minutes from 59 and then the 2nd time skipped from 59 (should of been 69) to 70. I'm interested in this '6 not working' thing though, I definitely saw the time in the 60-69 minutes but didn't notice any time skipping or anything. If anyone saw this too, please let me know.

Re: Big screen tonight
I obviously didn't watch it all the time but my lad was shocked that it said 50 minutes (that we had only been playing 5 in the 2nd half) when it seemed around 15 would be right.claptrappers_union wrote:Thanks for this. Anyway good luck with sorting it.

Claptrappers, if you have any contact with the sound people can you ask them if they are aware of the poor sound in the Bob Lord. Thanks.

Yep the sound in the Bob Lord is awful. It seemed not to be working at all for a few matches and now it just seems to be out of sync

You at the back corner or something? I’d have thought that it was fairly visible from most of the stand.karatekid wrote:Can't see through the side of the stand though. Maybe if they cleaned it up a bit eh

It went off completely at some point in the second half, but for how long andclaptrappers_union wrote:Did you see it was it wrong in the 2nd half?
at what time I don't know because I had nodded off.
Seriously, it did go blank at some stage.

It did go completely off at one point. I was hoping they were just turning over to Im a Celeb. The only thing I can offer about the time is I felt like I'd lost two hours of my life I will never get back.
