we've no chance of promotion if we get rid of SD

Post by Spijed » Sat Dec 01, 2018 5:34 pm

If we go down and get rid of SD we've pretty much blown our chances of an immediate return to the Prem.

And probably for a few seasons as well

No chance of staying up if he stays either.

How can you possibly predict that with such certainty?

I don't think that's entirely true. I believe we have a decent squad. With some careful recruitment (signing 2 or 3 younger players in key positions), I think the right man could get us promoted at the first attempt. Of course, there's no guarantee but there isn't a guarantee that Dyche can manage it for a 3rd time either. And to be honest, the Championship is pretty fun.

Ha,ha.Seriously.If Dyche leaves the world will end.The football is awful to watch and we have won 2 of the last 19 league games.Pull your head out of your backside if you think Dyche is the only manager who would bring us back up.Lets give Dyche a 25 year contract cos he got us to the premier.

There is little chance this squad would get us promoted from the Championship, those that weren't moved on as a cost saving measure anyway.

Bang on. As dire and weak as we are at the minute you don't sack a manager with two promotions under his belt. He has created a really poor side but who else would you have more faith in to make it right

Imagine signing younger players ! Youth has almost been entirely irradicated during Dyche’s tenure.

Whatever we had has gone. If Dyche stays then we need to give him the money to build a completely new team, because he has lost the current lot, and can't say I blame them.

Experience is of course vital but I agree - our squad has aged a little too much.

My hunch is it won't be an issue IF we go down...

Only guessing but I've always thought that if we did go down, one of the remaining' big city' clubs in the Championship will come in for him as he's proved he knows how to get teams out of that division with limited resources so it will be a case of SD choosing to leave rather than Burnley sacking him.

I think he will relish the chance of a new challenge at a different club, will just depend on the ownership set up and how much control he has over signings etc.

The bigger Championship clubs set their sights higher than Dyche. Look at Leeds managing to attract someone like Bielsa.

Get what you're saying but not sure why any Championship team wouldn't at least consider a manager who has earned 2 promotions from that division (one as Champions) and kept a team in the PL for 3 seasons, reaching the Europa league qualifiers on the way.

Difference is, I don't think SD would be shown the same patience and support as at Burnley and if he did manage to get the hyperthetical 'big city' club into the PL they would have no qualms about ditching him for a 'big name' manager if things were going tits up after 3 months.

The problem with Dyche is that his style of football is so bad to watch if he didn't get results instantly he'd be under massive pressure. I appreciate his track record in the Championship but if things don't change this season I just don't think he'll be that attractive. Plus the likes of Villa and Forest have fairly recent appointments that are doing well.

:D I can only imagine that without Sean Dyche we will plummet down to the National League North in about 5 seasons :D

The players aren’t playing for him, are we going to buy a new team?
