Rainbow Armbands today?
I noticed on the stream Ben Mee and the Palace Captain wearing the rainbow armbands. I'm not sure whether this was a prem leauge initiative or it's a world gay day thing? or the aids week thing? No issues with it though just wondered what the occasion/event was and if all clubs did this? I know the Brighton MP came out with HIV so perhaps there is a campaign going on?
Not looking for left/right debate just wondered what it was for?

Rainbow laces campaign this weekend, they've done it every season since 2013 now and it still brings knuckle draggers out complaining about it on social media.

There are far more important things in life but I suppose anyone not remotely interested in supporting any of these minority campaigns is tarnished as a knuckle dragger.
I'm just off to get some plasters

Aye, I'm not that interested in supporting it but I don't go mouth off on the internet about how offended I am that they're doing it or shouting about how 'wrong' it is. I just get on with my own life.JohnMac wrote:There are far more important things in life but I suppose anyone not remotely interested in supporting any of these minority campaigns is tarnished as a knuckle dragger.

Sexual Orientation should not be a reason to be abused, campaigns draw attention to it but do very little in reality. It's the same with the abhorrent racism issues.deanothedino wrote:oh, that's how you show it. Interesting.
There are bigger problems in life like the Homeless, many of who suffer from mental illness that in my opinion would benefit from a campaign.
Support from the Premier League could make a difference to someone, even just for a day.
My plaster comment was aimed at the inference that anyone not getting excited about Rainbow weekend was a knuckle dragger.

Except that wasn't what I was inferring. I was saying that anyone who responds to a football club having a rainbow backgrounded twitter picture with tweets like "@BurnleyOfficial @CPFC Sick of this LGBT crap everywhere. Get it off the profile FFS" or commenting on the new Facebook picture like this "What’s the rainbow colours about? Wtf does sexuality have to do with football? I give in. Why does sexuality have to enter into everything? I don’t care who is sleeping with who - i’m there to watch the footie for pete’s sake" " God created adam and eve not adam and Steve" or the 266 people who reacted with an angry face are knuckle draggers.JohnMac wrote:Sexual Orientation should not be a reason to be abused, campaigns draw attention to it but do very little in reality. I agree, hence why I called them knuckle draggers. The people who quietly have no interesting in supporting the campaign are fine.JohnMac wrote:Mate, they are sad. Some people have no purpose in life.
