Hart (player of the season so far)

Bardsley Tarky Long AN Other (Ward injured and Taylor miles off PL standard yet weird criticism of Hart diverts from his inabilities)

Lennon , struggling for a cente midfield JBG

Vokes or Barnes

Taylor does not have a clue how to defend. Absolutely the main reason for all the goals conceded. Everyone else is affected by it. Mee can’t trust him for a start.

Reminds me of a puppy chasing a balloon

Yet Taylor has probably been one of the better performers over last 2 or 3 games.

3-5-2

Hart
Tarkowski Gibson Mee
Gudmundsson Brady
Westwood Defour Hendrick
Vydra
Vokes

Subs: Heaton, Bardsley, Cork, Lennon, McNeil, Wood, Barnes

Not sure it’s a good plan but it’s different and it might give us something different!

I wouldn't advocate wholesale changes - these players generally deserve the chance to redeem themselves, and us - but I'd not be averse to trying something a little different, perhaps like using Tarkowski in the holding role, behind Hendrick and Defour.

You're more likely to see Lord Lucan on the team sheet than see Vydra's name. (More's the pity!)

I admit, it does a bit, and its not something I ever thought I'd advocate - except I'm advocating it after he's played the role a few times for us (admittedly, more than a year ago), so we know he can do it. The reason it's attractive is that at present we are giving far too much space away in front of the back four. I'm not sure why Cork isn't patrolling that space as effectively as once he did, but he isn't, and Westwood and Defour is too similar a partnership. We could put Hendrick in that role - he did it for Derby, but with Tarkowski, Defour and Hendrick as a three, you'd like to think we can make ourselves more solid.

When has he done it apart from a few minutes at the end of a game?

Has he played that position before?

Genuinely as last season seems a decade ago I can’t remember.

There’s not a hope in hell that Sean will shake things up for the scousers game. Unfortunately. He will more than likely play the same starting 11 from today’s game. Salah + his mates will have the freedom of Turf Moor on Wednesday night.....

Unfortunately I can only see a 0-5/6 annihilation against the bin dippers, whichever 11 we put out.

We'd end up with a back five, one less in midfield and still nowt going forward.

Can't imagine there being too many changes.

Does he bring back Tarks and/or Gibson and in what roles?
Possibly Tarks as claretspice has suggested ?
Vydra just doesn't look like an option. He wasn't even on the bench.

Hart
Lowton, Tarks, Long (whose played better than Mee last few games), Taylor
JBG, Westwood, Defour, Hendrick, Lennon
Wood or Vokes

We're not creating chances and not looking like being able to
keep the opposition from scoring.

Heaton Hart

Westwood

Wood

Reckon we might be able to keep the score down to below half a dozen with this line-up, and possibly still create more chances than we did today!

Hart
Tarkowski Long Gibson
Bardsley Taylor
Gudmundson Defour Hendrick
Vydra
Vokes
Strong at the back
Wing backs give us some width.
More solid and energetic in midfield
Less long ball, Vydra linking midfield and feeding off Vokes.
Won't happen.!

We have to take risks. Shutting up shop won’t work because the shop has a broken door and no roof.

Heaton may reorganise the defence a bit, no offence to Hart. It is worth a try. Two huge problems have been Mee at centre back and Taylor at left back, moving Mee to left back could help with that.

I watched MOTD and was amazed how all the danger and both goals came from wingers cutting in, mainly from our left. There was a stat last week about Taylor never being dribbled past. That is because he is always on his marks pointing at the corner flag, ready to dash down after the attacker if he goes that way. When the attacker cuts inside, Taylor is slow to turn every single time and it results in a free shot or cross.

This manager won’t do this of course. Like many posters on here he is risk averse to a fault. Sometimes though the status quo can be more risky than the change, that applies to both the manager and the team selection.

Not a bad shout but not a chance of that happening. I’m betting it’ll be the same line up as Saturday with as you say the players given the chance to redeem themselves. Also people must be kidding themselves if they think McNeil is going to be in the starting line up!!!!

He will go
Hart,lowton,mee,long,Taylor
Jbg,cork,defour,Lennon,
Hendrick
Wood.
It won't work and we will be 3 down at half time.he will swap wood for vokes on 70 mins.At 0-5 with 10 mins left he will swap Defour for Barnes and Brady for Lennon with 4 mins left and we will lose 0-6.Thursday morning Dyche will resign and blame Garlick.

And rightly so, in fairness. McNeil is a great prospect, but rarely is it a great idea to chuck the kids in when you're in a rut like we are now. A few bad games for a kid of 18/19 and you can sink their confidence.

Oh dear. Up until yesterday I had convinced myself that whilst we would be sucked into the dog fight, we,d still be okay and still be in the Premier League next season.

Now I'm thinking this is more than loss of confidence. Something has gone badly wrong behind the scenes. The players are not playing as a unit anymore and they don't seem to want to play for Dyche.

Is Mala591 ablueclaret? His obsession with McNeil is reminiscent of Edgar/Smith/Tarks in midfield etc

I genuinely don't think Mee even deserves his place in the team right now. Long, Tarks and Gibson should be ahead of him, based on recent form.
