Re: Wood Vs Gray
No, I'm not sure about that. Wood has been absolutely useless of late but he's not exactly getting a lot of service. I'd say he's low on confidence like many of our players. If Dyche was sacked today and we brought in a more attack minded coach, you'd see Wood score a decent number of goals. He hasn't lost that ability. Dyche has lost the team though.Right_winger wrote:It’s plain to see that Gray > Wood

Wood done well for us when he first came in but I’m not convinced by him at all. Grays biggest asset his pace and acceleration is what teams require at this level. There’s a reason wood hasn’t made it at this level.

Re: Wood Vs Gray
Different types of players. Wood is an ok player but it was stupid to sign another big lump when Gray left. We miss Grays pace which gave us another dimension to our game we are badly missing. We are so predictable and have no threat in behind making us so easy to defend against. That is why we miss Gray not because he is necessarily better that wood, just a different sort of player. Our transfer business is the biggest reason we are in this mess. A real weakness for Dyche along with his inflexibility and lack of imagination.

Re: Wood Vs Gray
Did we miss Gray at any stage last season?
Re: Wood Vs Gray
You do realise that had Gray been playing for us last season we would have been playing in the Champions League!Lancasterclaret wrote:Did we miss Gray at any stage last season?

Re: Wood Vs Gray
How many games did they play though? Who has a better overall scoring record?Spijed wrote:And just to show the stats again:

Gray is a lot quicker and stronger on the ball.
Re: Wood Vs Gray
Wood can’t trap a bag of cement at the moment, something not right with him along with the rest of the team it’s more than a lack of confidence
Re: Wood Vs Gray
Wood looks like a confidence player and has struggled since the pre-season yet SD keeps picking him in the hope he hits some form and often gets picked over Vokes having had a stormer in his previous game. Vokes must be really peed off!
Re: Wood Vs Gray
No but he's the type of player to still score even in bad form unlike Wood! One season doesn't make a player.Did we miss Gray at any stage last season?

According to Wiki:Right_winger wrote:How many games did they play though? Who has a better overall scoring record?
Gray is a lot quicker and stronger on the ball.
Wood scored 11 in 26 games last season, 3 in 19 this
Gray scored 5 in 33 games last year, 3 in 14 this.
It shows Wood was fantastic last year poor this time.
Gray poor in both seasons.

The stats say the complete opposite.BigChaCha wrote:No but he's the type of player to still score even in bad form unlike Wood! One season doesn't make a player.
