According to some Man City fans - re Eddie Howe
Eddie Howe plays the game like Tony Pulis according to some Man City supporters.
"Eddie Howe is a ***** joke. His tactics are as caveman as Tony Pulis’ but somehow he’s got himself a reputation as a British Pep. Astonishing really."

Interesting how different fans see things in different ways!

Yeah but if they turn up at City playing free flowing football they get beat 5-0.

I don't think you can take anything a city fan says seriously. Most of them were United and Liverpool fans 10 years ago.

Always cracks me up what fans think of opposition styles. Who gives a ****? Theyre there to beat you. Wtf do you care how they play?
Some modern fans would genuinely rather lose if the opposition play well.
If arsenal play how they did today when they play us I couldnt give a ****.

I know plenty will disagree but for me, at the end of the day, football is a sport first and foremost. I couldn’t care less our style of football if we pick up points.

Re: According to some Man City fans - re Eddie Howe
When Howe brought his Bournemouth team to Turf Moor in the championship they were pretty dull. The centre half spent a minute drying the ball for a free kick and then left it for the goalkeeper to take.
There's not many teams who will go to the Etihad and try to play City at their own game.
In regard to the comment about City fans only supporting them for the last 10 years it is not true. They were still getting 30k when they dropped into the third tier.

I have a few good mates who have supported city from birth. They cringe when we start talking about some of the twohats who support them now.
I'm starting to know how they feel lately even though we haven't had their success

I wonder what it's really like to be a city fan most of the time. I imagine when they score it must be the same as being an Andy Murray fan and cheering when he gets a point against an opponent with no arms. But really getting into it like "yeaah you've got no ******* arms you ******* yeeeaah"

Spoke to a mate of mine, a proper diehard City fan, back in September not long after they had hammered Fulham, he said it's getting boring. He enjoys the social catch up beforehand but the game is dull. For fans who've supported them through the ups and downs and a lot of ridicule it has now gone to the extreme of every home league game is a forgone conclusion.edlass wrote:I wonder what it's really like to be a city fan most of the time. Philosophy is cheap when your club is owned by a b̶i̶l̶l̶i̶o̶n̶a̶i̶r̶e̶ nation state. Everyone else needs to fight tooth and nail for a result. Many of the younger (U-30) fans are the modern-day turn-of-the-century UTD fans.

Spot on, the biggest set of fake fans going, the fans from 10 years ago hate the current crop of glory hunters.IndigoLake wrote:I don't think you can take anything a city fan says seriously. Most of them were United and Liverpool fans 10 years ago.

23 years ago Blackbum Woe-vers were a top flight team (believe it or not its actually true and they may/may not have won something around this time) they were getting quite large crowds at the time ... when their decline began the City crowds started growing, and as City became a world force in Football Woevers became a jokeShore claret wrote:Spot on, the biggest set of fake fans going, the fans from 10 years ago hate the current crop of glory hunters.
I think you may find a number (well a huge amount) of Etihad (Cup hunters) goers used to be Woe-vers Cup hunters...
Yet another reason to Hate Man Sh.... City

Alarmingly for city they seem to be driving the old fans away, not sure they sell the ground out much either.
When I went to school in Rochdale there was 1city fan, amazingly a lot of the lads now seem to be lifelong fans, very strange.
