Re: Defour a doubt for Liverpool
What a good excuse that will be to keep Jack Cork on the pitch.
I begin to wonder if anything is going to open Sean's eyes, his resolve is just becoming stubborn.
I seriously hope there's nothing too much wrong with Stephen, we need him fit and at his best, but if he does have a niggle it isn't worth the risk.
I already feared for us tomorrow, it isn't getting better.

If he can't play two games in 4 days, then he'll be held back for Saturday.
Getting injured again trying to keep the score below five tomorrow is a bit pointless with Brighton here next.

So you think he is lying about Defour just so he can keep Cork in his side, meaning he would rather lie and drop a fit Defour than just take Cork out the side ?
It is getting ****ing worse on here

Re: Defour a doubt for Liverpool
It'd be good to see Ward back but hopefully he won't have lost it

I’m sure I read on here that his legs have gone.Belial wrote:It'd be good to see Ward back but hopefully he won't have lost it
Re: Defour a doubt for Liverpool
I'd like to see if that back line can still work with Ward at LB and Heaton /Pope in goal.
Re: Defour a doubt for Liverpool
There has been much debate 're Hart/Heaton but our form has nose dived since Ward has been unavailable. Maybe his organisational skills were also a key factor in last season's impressive defensive displays. If he can achieve full fitness, maybe a key member of our defence.Belial wrote:It'd be good to see Ward back but hopefully he won't have lost it

Re: Defour a doubt for Liverpool
my thoughts exactly - he was a solid part of our success for the past few years and we've missed his attacking threat IMOBillyblah wrote:There has been much debate 're Hart/Heaton but our form has nose dived since Ward has been unavailable. Re: Defour a doubt for Liverpool
Undoubtedly our best player. But saturday is crucial.
It might work in our favour having the more physical and athletic Hendrick in there for this one. Not like we will have much of the ball.

Re: Defour a doubt for Liverpool
Hard to see Ward coming back and even being close to the same player. We've been so far off it this season don't even think the Ward from a year or two ago would have made much difference tbh.
Re: Defour a doubt for Liverpool
A midfield 5 of
JBG Westwood Hendrick Cork Lennon/Brady
Would be my shout tonight, A lot more physicality, ratting ability and legs in there then, save Defour for Saturday if he's not going to be 100% for Saturday if played tonight.
Westwood has generally done ok when called upon, and may take the chance to prove a point

100% agree with that MACCA
4-5-1 and flood the midfield. Get Hendrick back in the thick of it where he belongs, rather than the number 10 role as well.
