On the bench though so that puts to bed a load of posts on the other thread.

Dropped the only outfield player playing well.

Too much loyalty he said. Mee and Cork start. I really hope this team works.

Me too. He was one of the few very slightly (very slight) bright points from that performance against Palace. Made several important blocks and tackles.

A dreadful decision and a proper kick in the teeth for Long. One of a couple of players who could hold his head up after recent performances

Tarks is better than Long end of. Longs played well. But ultimately Longs not as good as Tarks.

Barnes coming back in = good.

Cork and Wood keeping their places = naff.

Who mentioned anything about tarks? It's Ben mee who should make way.

But that would be for Gibson of course.

Don’t disagree. But Mee’s performances warrant being dropped. Even playing Tarks slightly out of position.

It's no big deal playing a right footed player as the left sided CH. Been done a million times in some of the best CH pairings

It has but usually very top players. When its Burnley against Liverpool its different. Had it been known theyd not be playing their usual front three perhaps we may have considered it.

Tbh Mee has been ok but could definitely improve. We dont want Long being a scapegoat. He knows his role and hes seemingly happy with it.

Indeed. Tarkowski played LCB for England in a back 3...

Mine are held high. His rash tackling even helped tonight tonget the crowd going. A great change.

Bardsley, Tarks and Mee in the main were pretty good tonight. Bardsley especially.

Feel it's a bit harsh that Long and Lowton seem to have been made the scapegoats. Lowton hasn't been great but Ben Mee and Cork have been awful and seem to be undroppable

Cork rewarded the (possibly misguided) loyalty by playing well last night. Mee (whilst possibly at fault for the 2nd goal) had a decent game too.

Hopefully they'll both kick on now.

I'd play the same XI versus Brighton, perhaps switching Wood for Vokes.
