Hart 8 - Some great saves, including the worldy he tipped onto the post. Kept us in the game.
Bardsley 9 - Where did that come from? Everywhere, crunching tackles, incredible determination and passion, some belting runs and the confidence to shoot from well outside the box. Impressive. MOM.
Tarkowski 7 - Solid. Looked to have found that connection again with Mee.
Mee 7 - Very good foot in on that Salah run and looked more assured tonight. Couple of mistakes, not quite a good as Tarks, but was a close 6 or 7.
Taylor 7 - One piece of cover early doors, where he was across covering for the right back was impressive and he did okay tonight.
Cork 7 - Finally good to see him putting the effort in. Couple of wayward passes, but a couple of times he picked up loose balls and made those forward passes and moves.
Westwood 6 - Didn't think he was in the game much, can;t remember him doing an awful lot.
Brady 7 - Thought he was a different player from the one we saw at Palace. Very good defensive work, really putting his opponents under the cosh and whipped some good balls into the box.
JBG 6 - He was one of the few who just didn't seem to get into it. Had a couple of opportunities, but it just got away from him. Think he did okay with his defensive duties though.
Wood 5 - Poor again unfortunately. Couldn't get the ball out from under himself at crucial times to shoot.
Barnes 8 - Was unlucky to slip at a couple of importnant moments, but never stopped working, chasing and hustling. As good as those Liverpool defenders were, he made them work for it.

Vokes 5 - Rarely see Sam get dominated in the air, but that Van Dyke had him completely covered. Unfortunately didn't offer us much after he came on.
Lennon 6 - Was trying hard, but it wasn't happening for him. Seem to be getting a little bit frustrated towards the end.
Vydra - Not really time to judge him. Although he fell over the ball, seemed a bit too keen, he seems to have the passion, desire and work-rate. Never stopped running.

Hart 5....I am not convinced at all. His 'super saves' tonight were caused by slightly slow reactions. His ability to stay on the line caused problems and he should have read that 3rd goal and cut it out. Either he has a slowness of reaction - fatal for a keeper- or he has a sight problem, which could be corrected.
Bardsley 8 - set the tone, with his tenacity.

Always disappointing to lose. But the way we've been losing recently has been dire.
Much, much better tonight against one of the best teams in Europe.
Certainly didn't deserve to get beat 3-1.

Last season, we took points against sides we weren't expected to playing like that.
Keep that level up and, reckon we've a chance of staying up.

No he didn’t. He took far to long to get the ball out of his feet twice ruining two good chances. What else did he offer? He missed an easy header as well but fortionately he was miles offside, which is no surprise

He looked to have loads of time for the first one after Barnes flicked on but took a touch and got swamped.

Christ, some of you are hard to please. Liverpool are second best team in the country but you still score Cork with 6 points. Did you forget he scored?

Personally, I would say all the players deserve an 8. That was a spirited performance. Bardsey certainly showed why he should be in the team. Barnes really caused them a lot of problems. Feel sorry for Chris Wood but am confident the goals are coming. Lennon and Vydra showed real potential. Good to see Gudmanson, Tarkowski and Brady back.

so you think having the ability to run around a lot is all you need to play in the Premier League............sorry Tony not for me. He might work hard (first time this season) but he isn't clinical enough at this level even in comparison to someone like Barnes. To be fair to him, we aren't playing to his strengths either but that doesn't change his lack of finishing, we are struggling and could do with playing our most clinical players and for that reason I'd prefer Vydra be given a chance.

Wood 6 put himself about a lot more and seemed up for it, but missed another glorious chance, and then it was offside, offside, offside, offside..............he needs to sort it out, because he's spoiling himself.



If the marks are high in a defeat, it's because I was so happy to see us back to where we need to be in this league. Liverpool were the better team, but with a little bit of luck we could have got something out of that game.

Bardsley 8 A thug but maybe that's what we needed. Lucky not to have got a red or at least a yellow card early on but set the tone for the performance.

Lennon 7 I’m not a big fan as he underwhelms too much.
Vydra 7 he’s a better option than woods with Barnes up front.
Dyche 8 his tactics and plan were spot on, just missing that bit of class or luck to execute the full plan and claim 3 points and get back on track.

Surprised by some of the low marks for Taylor. Recently he’s been one of our better outfield players and I think he’s growing into a very capable left back at this level.
