Very much so. I’ve so wanted to write a positive report and I thought it was right to do so despite the result.

Only negatives I have from yesterday were the number of "newbies" there and how quick they disappeared after the 3rd went in.
Bet they aren't there on Saturday

That was the best performance since the opening day, the fire is back in the lads bellies again, well chuffed, we played like the entire season depended on it, who knows, if Ash Barnes goal wasn't ruled out, a draw or even a win was possible, a pity we got stung in the end, but we were going for it before they hit us on the counter, well done boys, our season starts here.

I was away with work the other week and some Scottish chap said Burnley are everything that’s wrong with the Premier league - they have no intention if having a go, and just take the money.
I said ******** obviously........’what, you mean:
A club which is financially sound.
A club which doesn’t have a benefactor who simply treats it as a toy.
A club which doesn’t overspend on fancy Dan’s who when the going gets tough, they sulk and sod off.....
A club which has invested its new found wealth on its infrastructure..
A club which is very much at the heart of its community- award winning.
A club which still has a traditional ground, not some soulless concrete bowl built in a remote location just off a motorway
A club supported by its town, not tourists
A club which occasionally gives the big boys a bloody nose and they don’t like it....
A club which doesn’t sack its manger 3 times a season
And last night, apart from the defeat................is what we are..........proud!

well said, I don't mind admitting I really despise the PLJimmymaccer wrote:I was away with work the other week and some Scottish chap said Burnley are everything that’s wrong with the Premier league - they have no intention if having a go, and just take the money.

Re: REPORT: The Burnley we know and love
Lancaster said it well on another thread, anything less than 100% from the team and we're buggered. When Dyche talks of fine margins, it's the 100% thing, 99 won't do, they'll get a last minute equaliser, 98 we lose 1 nowt etc etc. At 90% we're likely to get stuffed. We have such a high bar to reach each week, the fine margins of not reaching that high bar, gee what an incredibly tough league this is, sucks to be floundering but brilliant to see glimpses of that fight we have. The full 90 against Liverpool, we need to frame that. He will get us out of this, Dyche.

Re: REPORT: The Burnley we know and love
The crowd don't ask for much other than 100% effort / passion. A few strong sliding tackles get Turf Moor rocking just as much as a few chances on goal do. Unfortunately, this season we haven't seen the same amount of effort / passion that was out there on Wednesday night.
