Re: Phil Bardsley
Yes, the back four is finally sorted. Onwards and upwards.
Re: Phil Bardsley
Solid performance today. Reminded me of Dean Marney and Kevin Ball. A gutsy performance.
Re: Phil Bardsley
His time on the bench has worked. He is determined to make the right back position his. Like a new signing.
Re: Phil Bardsley
We certainly need a ball winning MF player like a Marney, Barton, Alexander, Ball, or Deary and I have thought that with 4 good CB we could try Tarks in that role as he has played that role in the early days when he came on as a sub. Bardsley might also be an option too.BurnleyPaul wrote:Shoot me down if you wish but does anybody else think that Bardsley could step into a deep midfield holding role? (Think of Graham Alexander....)
We need somebody who is calm, assured and a leader there to help shore things up a little. In the short term at least could he do the job for us?
Re: Phil Bardsley
The back four, whilst still not perfect, is improving game on game and much of it is down to this fellah. Oh for one - or two - like him in the midfield, but with mire skill of course!!!Bosscat wrote:The 40yd strike on Wednesday wasn't half bad for a 'non' attacking full back and am sure he tried a similar one today
His enthusiasm is infectious as seen by his fist pump while walking off tonight after the game
Re: Phil Bardsley
At the level we need specialists in midfield not converted defenders. You look and all te better teams have real athletes in midfield. We need a couple, one defencsive and one attacking. I think we can write Defour off now.mdd2 wrote:We certainly need a ball winning MF player like a Marney, Barton, Alexander, Ball, or Deary and I have thought that with 4 good CB we could try Tarks in that role as he has played that role in the early days when he came on as a sub. Couldn't agree more think that's a sound piece of reasoning .BurnleyPaul wrote:Shoot me down if you wish but does anybody else think that Bardsley could step into a deep midfield holding role? (Think of Graham Alexander....)

Re: Phil Bardsley
Rumour has it, Bardsley has found some magic jaw strengthening compound and has applied it to the entire team.
