Re: Poor city
Pep and Jurgen; what an odious pair. I do hope that likeable chap at Manchester Utd pips them to the post, this year.

I'm hoping Spurs can do it this time, certainly overdue.
That's after they drop points in their next league game of course.

I'd be surprised if City and Liverpool weren't 1st and 2nd come the end of the season.Aclaret wrote:I'm hoping Spurs can do it this time, certainly overdue.

Two horse race after 16 games.
Best league in the world.

Re: Poor city
The Premier league is getting rather boring and very predictable, this game should have been a cracker it was boring as ****,we have loads of money I long for a 46 game Championship season with its highs and lows,.....maybe next season eh TFC?TheFamilyCat wrote:I'd be surprised if City and Liverpool weren't 1st and 2nd come the end of the season.

Re: Poor city
Are there any other teams capable of beating Bayern Munich on a regular basis in Germany, for example?TheFamilyCat wrote:I'd be surprised if City and Liverpool weren't 1st and 2nd come the end of the season.

Re: Poor city
And it's either them or Dortmund. That's just a two horse race every season.

Bayern are about 5th this season.Spijed wrote:Are there any other teams capable of beating Bayern Munich on a regular basis in Germany, for example?

Re: Poor city
I'm not denying that other leagues are equally, or even more predictable. But those leagues haven't been given the tag "best in the world"Spijed wrote:Are there any other teams capable of beating Bayern Munich on a regular basis in Germany, for example?

Re: Poor city
The only people calling it “the best in the world” are the people broadcasting it and selling it around the world. It’s not rocket science is it?TheFamilyCat wrote:I'm not denying that other leagues are equally, or even more predictable. But those leagues haven't been given the tag "best in the world"

Re: Poor city
To be fair I think its a bit of a myth that its not competetive.
Since the premier league was invented we have had 6 winners and rarely is it defended. It hasnt beem for over ten years. In which time we have had four different winners.
In that time Germany has also had 6, Italy 5, Spain 5.
Of all the big leagues there is only France which has been shared out frequently. And that includes a spell where Lyon were unbeatable and PSG now going that way.
There are far more leagues which are less competetive. Look at Scotland and Portugal.
Look at the teams that go down and the teams that come up here too. Leeds, Forest, Wednesday and others going down and not coming back is never going to happen in other leagues.

Re: Poor city
Sky ruined English soccer and our ability for the national team to ever to win any major competition due to too many non English players and managers in it the PL.
