The eternal PL triangle

Post by piston broke » Sat Dec 08, 2018 7:08 pm

CP beat Burnley
BHA beat CP
Clarets beat BHA

What a league this could be if they made it a level playing field.

Apart from the big six plus Everton, anyone can beat anyone and every team is a relegation candidate

Agree with Nonayforever - 7 unrelegatable teams in this division - for the rest it's an annual battle for survival. The successful teams are the ones who approach every season with that mindset, Usually we do. This time we didn't. Now we've woken up to the reality. Hopefully it's not too late. On a positive note we are by far the most stable of all those clubs in the mix.

I wouldn't say Everton are unrelegatable, with the right circumstances (long-term injuries, bad management, poor transfer window) they could be drawn into a battle, unlikely but not impossible, they were in the bottom 3 about this time last year, and had to call BFS.

But effectively it's a two-tier league that's just the reality i'm afraid, games such as today are what will decide our fate.

Everton did a good impression of a team in crisis for a while last season and historically would have gone if goal line technology was around in the 90's.

Biggest bit of daylight robbery in football, I even felt sorry for Bolton at the time.

If this triangle is eternal then aren't all triangles eternal?

The same season they were 0-2 at HT against Wimbledon, in a must win, and went on to win 3-2. Last match of the season and doubts still persist.
