I posted this about Wood on the ratings thread but I think it’s worth posting here too.

Just the one pass completed in the last third of today’s game. 8 passes completed all game. 43% success rate.

You can tell it’s nearly the school holidays down on the coast.

Hmm, it could be time to dig out some of the old threads about Gray, the ones where he was getting absolutely battered on here...

If you are going to put a pass through for your strikers to run onto then it's Gray. If you are lumping it up then it's wood.
It would be great to have the option.

For those arguing that we make good strikers bobbins, I'll throw Barnes and Vokes in for a bit of realism- We certainly improved both of them.

Back to the original debate- I'd take Gray back over Wood, just for something different.

Gray was different to Wood. He offered a different threat to Vokes and Barnes. Whilst I think we have missed him stretching a defence by turning defenders into the channel... Selling him was the only option given the amount of money received.

Gray by a country mile. Watford know how to play him, infortunately we didnt in the Prem.

Really? Is that why he's only got 8 goals in nearly 50 appearances for them?

A fantastic strike rate!

Wood was our top goal scorer last year despite missing a lot of games through injury....
