Yaya Toure on his way?

Got it on good authority that he is on his way here. From an excellent source. He was right on the money for Gray, Barton and Hart signings.

Rigg (and Joe Hart) know him very well and it was Rigg who took him to city.

Cant say he is the right fit now to be honest especially as he hasnt done it at Olympiakos. Right profile just too old.

I guess its low risk on a free.

Was hoping we would be looking at Loftus Cheek and Drinkwater personally.

Also said not to be surprised if we go in for an ex city winger. Didnt name names. Can only think Navas or Nasri. Not sure we should go for either of those.

Not so sure myself. Legs looked to have gone 18 months ago.

Could stick him in the pirlo role mind.

Hmmm, hope not. City mate said he was a right lazy so and so, and that was a couple of seasons ago.
Rather as you suggest go for Drinkwater

Weiss is a tiny winger isn’t he?
It’s that big bodied mf we need. Toure would be perfect, if he never crossed the halfway line. All he has to do is win it and give it.
Can’t see it happening though but I said the same about Gazza & Ian Wright.

Those saying his legs have gone which is why he didn't play for Olympiakos are missing an important point. He didn't pay because he was on a massive pay per play fee for each game and Olympiakos are under investigation for their spending so couldn't afford to play him.

Over the hill player. managed to look a million miles off the pace for city on the rare occasion he played for them last season so dread to think how he’d look in our team.

Just pick them up from school and give them some new toys to play with is an easier way to keep daughters from Adam Johnson.

Outstanding player in his time, but not the type of player we need if we want to move forward. Even on a free his wages would be the equivalent of an expensive transfer.

I put forward a couple of suggestions on another thread. One that I feel would be a very good fit for us and two that have minor questions attached to them.

With the way things are going I don't envision us doing much business in the next window. If we are still stradling the relegation line in January I think it will have a huge impact on our spending plan.

If we can build on our past two match day performances, and I can't see why not, our chances of staying up should be a lot healthier come January. However, I still think we will be more likely to pay over the odds to bring in a player like Alan Browne from Preston instead of expanding our horizons. Not that he would be a bad player if the price was right.

The appointment of Mike Rigg was a clear acknowledgement that our recruitement strategy needed to change and more investment was needed, but it will take time to make the necessary improvements that will take us forward. January is only a couple of weeks away so the next window is probably to early to register any significant changes in the way we go about things.

If we can show a little more creativity than going back in for the targets we missed out on in the last window that will be enough for me in terms of target selection.

An eye to the future is what I would like to see us focus on in the next window. Players that are in the earlier part of their careers who can add depth to the squad or move forward and become first team regulars in a year or two. And if we are forced to drop down they could have the opportunity to step up earlier if any existing first teamers depart.

Not a player I think we should be looking at. Look how Sunderland filled their squad with players past their best. It doesn’t end well

On the plus side signing him would shake up the CFS song repotoire as he brings along a couple of new songs to sing in the ya ya kolo song and the pay him some more one

I thought he might be a bit of a "billy big boots" to fit into the Dyche fold, having said that I probably thought the same about Barton and look what happened there.

Even with his legs gone I suspect he would be a class above anything we have here at the moment.

The problem is he could only pass to the same players we have.

The massive plus though and what this team is crying out for is someone who always wants the ball in any situation and Yaya is certainly that man.

If his “legs have gone” he’d surely not pass a medical.

He wouldn’t be a long term fix but I’d be amazed if he didn’t bring more to the team than pretty much all of our midfielders have, this season.

It’d be a gamble in more ways than one but, on the right deal, one I’d take.
