Pochettino
Pochettino says football always rewards the team that plays football.
Is that a dig at us or is he right ?

Re: Pochettino
A dig at us. It's easy to say playing attacking football is the way to go when you have the money he has to spend. He wouldn't have said that if he was managing Burnley.

Re: Pochettino
Only one team attempting to win the game today and they deservedly did so. If Allardyce or Pulis played the way we did today they'd be getting absolutely slaughtered on here.

Re: Pochettino
Well I disagree. I think we increased our chances of coming away with something by playing the way we did. Had we been more attacking, we'd have been hammered. Had we attacked so much that we'd scored, they would have scored 3.

Re: Pochettino
That's because a lot of football fans are morons. We were unbelievably close to getting a point away at Spurs for the second season running because we actually played to our strengths and had enough about us to stop Spurs from playing the way they want to play. Don't let the 91st minute goal distract from the fact that today is a blueprint for how teams like us survive in this league when playing away from home. We've been turned over on a few occasions this season attempting to play more open football; it's done us no good whatsoever. Fair enough, we lost today, but playing like this is how teams like us survive.jrgbfc wrote:Only one team attempting to win the game today and they deservedly did so. It's a dig at us, but it's not right. If he had said "football always rewards the team that pays the biggest wages and signs all the best players", then he would have been right. If Tottenham had packed their defence and midfield and played long ball to Kane and Llorente, while we tried to get the ball down and play through their midfield, I bet football would have still rewarded the team with the best players and the biggest wages.Aclaret wrote:Pochettino says football always rewards the team that plays football.

Re: Pochettino
All these Spurs fans saying “look at Bournemouth they play attractive attacking football on limited resources” their record against them is won 5 drawn 1 for 17 against 3!!

Re: Pochettino
Hes right. The best team always comes out on top. And thats why hes never won anything as a manager and spurs havent won the league since we have.

Re: Pochettino
Done an absolutely magnificent job.
And to be fair, did play the same way at Southampton and Espanyol
We are getting ourselves back to what we are, and until we get back to what we are, attritional and organised if what we have to be.

Re: Pochettino
Spurs fans are probably the most deluded set of fans in England.
And England has Newcastle, Blackburn, Leeds, Leicester and Brighton in it.

The more I listen to fans of other clubs, then I realise that every club has a fanbase with a very high proportion of deluded fans in it.
Be it Lincoln, Leeds or Liverpool, all just as bad in their own way.
Quite annoying really

Re: Pochettino
realistically our best outcome yesterday was a point and a point for us would have made us feel like spurs did getting 3 points. We very nearly achieved that and looked relatively comfortable all afternoon. We can be a little more ambitious perhaps when not playing a top 6 team away from home. Goal difference could play a part at the end of the season so overall not the worst saturday we have had.

I always thought defending was part of playing football and I’m not going to be persuaded otherwise
