Morphine after surgery is better than just pain relief.

Firstly the title looks like the spam post UTC wakes upto every morning!
Sure people will have solid experience in this field with family traveling etc
What about cards like Monzo or Starling? You could load it from the U.K. possibly and no fees for overseas spending.
Check out https://www.moneysavingexpert.com/credi ... dit-cards/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
Edit- this won’t work if she is already there

I work with a lot of Filipino nurses who send money back every month. Is there any on the ward you’re on? Ask them they might know
Re: Best & most secure method for sending money to Philippines
No Filipina nurses to ask in this private hospital
Lots of Filipinas in MK hospital so when I can I will pop in there to ask

Put it in the same postbox as the children's ward letters to father Christmas.

Re: Best & most secure method for sending money to Philippines
My worse half is a Filipina. She sends a lot, a very lot, from Australia to the Philippines.
Cheapest way is Moneygram and can be collected within an hour. Downside is you need to know a lot of id of the receiver such as address and passport (photo id doc) number. You simply tell them your transaction id number (SMS or email it) and they go to any one of thousands of places to collect.
I note recently she has been doing bank account to bank account transfers. I don't ask why.

What a coincidence ! I'm in Santiago, Isabela at the moment staying with a "friend "
Mind you I may have to return home soon, depending on some money to be sent out.

No and when when she rang me I asked her about her African accent and her deep voicebfcjg wrote:Mel, have you ever met her in the flesh ?
Apparently she got a rare illness that changed her voice and accent into that of an African man she thinks Nigerian
And she needs the money to have an operation to correct it
Only too happy to help the poor girl

She has promised that she will go to the Turf with me if I just send her the flight money
I would love to take her there
Might not be quite as warm as the Philipines but the fur coat I am also sending her money for will keep her warm

Re: Best & most secure method for sending money to Philippines
Have a look at Transferwise. You can download the app and it will give you the rate at the time you want to send it. You can see this before you agree to send. You obviously need a bank account to send it to. When you have agreed the best way is to pay via bank transfer and your money is then on its way. I use it to send to Thailand. Never had a problem.
The other way is Western Union but not usually as good a rate but almost instant transfer.
Just looked at the rate as it is now ie. Sunday 14-45.
If you were to send her £1000-00 (deposit on small car or whatever
There would be a charge of £6-97 and then a rate of 66-8270 (XE currency converter is currently showing an exchange of 66-8004 }
She would receive 66361-26
The charge would change as you increase or decrease the amount sent.

Re: Best & most secure method for sending money to Philippines
Assuming this is a serious question...
Just beaten to the punch, Ive used Transferwise a few times to send money to relatives abroad, bank account to bank account. Ive found it efficient and cheap.
A lot of these type of services either: give you a decent exchange rate but charge a big fee or charge no fee but give a poor exchange rate.

Have a look at doing an International Bank Transfer from your bank. Obliviously the cost of this depends on the T&C of whichever current account you are using.

No reason why it shouldn't be as it pays into a bank account.ZizkovClaret wrote:Transferwise is good if available there?

By the time it arrives it's often only worth half as much as it was when you sent it.Steddyman wrote:Bitcoin is the safest way to send money anywhere.

took the above from Transferwise site yesterday but I take your point they might not do all currencies.

Re: Best & most secure method for sending money to Philippines
I travel to India and I often have to pay for goods and services directly into the recipients bank account. So as long as you have those details, Fairfax can do the transfer for you for free. The exchange rate is competitive. Hope this helps

Never take morphine if you can help ittaio wrote:Morphine after surgery is better than just pain relief.
I have had Oramorph in the past and it made me tearful and a bit down
This time with my spinal Surgery I had extra strong Morphine
And it made me tearful as f*#k and also I kid you not while trying to sleep but still awake through my tears I saw or the extra strong Morphine made me see in my bedroom mirror near by me.....
A tiny lady moving and then someone in white fly off like the Snowman
No I am not cracking up it was the extra strong Morphine
Stay clear of it if you can
