Firestick abroad
Going away in Feb for a few weeks. Does anyone know if we can take our Firestick with us for wife to watch whilst I'm out boozing? If so what does it entail. Will be in Algarve. Ta.
Re: Firestick abroad
Yes you can. It entails putting it in the bag you take with you.

Have used mine abroad a few times and they work but you may be restricted to the available content in the region which is probably less than UK

I'll give you a helpful answer now.
As long as the TV has an HDMI port and there is wireless internet it works exactly the same as it does here.

Remember your remote! IPlayer won’t work. Anything with geo block won’t work.

If you want to get UK content, you’ll need a VPN installed and set to UK

What Tall Paul says and you need a VPN like IP Vanish. I use mine all the time in France and Spain.Tall Paul wrote:I'll give you a helpful answer now.

You can also install Mobdro on it.

Re: Firestick abroad
Do they cost or are they free? Also do you use them at home or just when travelling (in my case Portugal)?

Re: Firestick abroad
Ta Ian. Will I be able to load it but have it switched off until I go abroad then switch it on then off again when I return. To avoid any speed reduction isdues?
Re: Firestick abroad
It is an app and so are the IPTV type offerings. Just like your phone. Use them when you want and leave them closed, when you don't. All good.

Ta Ian - just watched it on youtube - think I'll buy it short term and see how it goes on holiday. UTC.

Also... Just read an article about using streaming devices.
The legal ruling is that it is illegal to sell/buy pfe-loaded devices. However, if you download Kodi or IPTV onto your clean device, that's ok.
The streaming copyright issue is also clarified.
It is OK as downloading and watching a stream only produces a temporary file and this is acceptable under copyright law. Keeping stuff is not.
