Worst manager since Wilf McGuinness was lumbered with the job.
If Pogba survives in the summer you will know that once again player power has triumphed.
It's been a toxic club since Fergie saw the writing on the wall and planned his exit.

Carrick taken over until end of season.
Re: Moanrinho has gone!
He's a strange manager in that he's obviously good enough to win league titles, the Champions league etc., but he's only seems to persist with dour football. At least with SD we are limited by our funds in the PL.

The team are a shocking disjointed mish mash with a fair few simply collecting their wages . It won’t ever happen but Wenger would do a job there

The circle of football. They had their time under Fergie. He was above the bad ownership, since he left it is downhill all the way. Mourinho proved his ability with an FA Cup and EL win but this 3 year max. he has is very odd.
They’ll be battling Everton for 6th & 7th for many years.

They're saying if the Utd board really want to wind their fans up it has to be Wenger!
Imagine the piercing glances between Arsene, arms out, and a certain Mr Ferguson up in the stand.

Re: Moanrinho has gone!
Why do clubs insist on offering long contracts involving huge amounts of money to managers. History suggests this is not a wise financial move. Contracts should be results and targets based shouldn't they? If they don't achieve a certain success then they are in breech of contract and dismissed with just their bus fare home.

Re: Moanrinho has gone!
Can't argue with it, but Pogba is clearly regarded as more important to United than Mourinho is.
Thats an incorrect assumption its safe to say, as bad as Mourinho has been, the performances of Pogba have been shocking (amongst others!)
If they don't go for Pochettino, they deserve shooting.

Re: Moanrinho has gone!
Can't see them finishing top 4,so unless they win the Champions League, they will be slumming it in the Europa.
The worry for their glory hunters is the gap is widening, and Man City,Liverpool,Tottenham,Chelsea and Arsenal are all strengthening,
You wouldn't even guarantee a Europa League spot, there is several sides snapping at their heels for 6th/7th.

Not so long ago everyone was saying the same things about Liverpool. As you say, it's a circle. United are the "biggest" club in the country and they'll be back before you know it (unfortunately).

This is proving to be a popular thread isn't it
Re: Moanrinho has gone!
I would imagine it is because, if they are successful, then they will up and leave to a club that does offer them a long, lucrative contract. It never made sense to me when managers were being paid less than players.karatekid wrote:Why do clubs insist on offering long contracts involving huge amounts of money to managers. Re: Moanrinho has gone!
One or two shouts for Fergie to come back for the rest of the season - I would imagine his health would make this a non-starter? Although the pictures I've seen do seem to indicate he has made a remarkable recovery.
Giggs again for the caretaker role?

Not something you could accuse us of at Burnley, some of our players especially on this message board have certainly taken the blame this year for the results we have had.tiger76 wrote:I've got no time for the bloke, but Pogba and Sanchez have been stealing a wage, how come the players are always absolved of any blame.

I enjoy watching the bookies reaction to things like this + all the speculation. There's already an oddschecker comparison of bookies odds, some real laughs on there.
https://www.oddschecker.com/football/ma ... nt-manager
At the serious end: ZZ at c 2/1; big gap to 9/1 ish for Conte, Blanc, Carrick, Poch etc
A few nutty ones @ 100/1: BFS, Warnock, Hughes, Keane, Klopp, Dyche, Pep, Scholes, Moyes
Re Mourinho: He has a very good management record but the negative parts of his personality have got stronger and stronger as he's aged & he just seems to unsettle the whole atmosphere within the clubs where he manages now.
I think Conte would do a very good job at Man U.

However, Utd is ran by accountant business type people and the £22.5M they pay to oust The Moaning one will massively ecclipsed by the fee they’ll command for a fully firing Pogba.
