Lennon facing surgery on knee!!!
Lennon facing surgery on knee!!!
Looks like Aaron Lennon is joining the Knee club.
Complained of a problem after the game at Wembley and it looks like he is going under the knife.
The Clarets’ winger picked up a knock against his former club as Burnley were beaten 1-0 by a late Christian Eriksen goal for Tottenham Hotspur last Saturday.
Lennon played until the 93rd-minute before a late tactical switch but reported some discomfort afterwards.
And after seeing a specialist and under-going a scan on Monday, the former England international, 31, may now require surgery.
Manager Sean Dyche confirmed: “I will find out more accurate information later, but he has a chance of needing an operation......

Re: Lennon facing surgery on knee!!!
He’s still got the pace when he wants to use it as he’s shown in glimpses (unfortunately it’s usually when defending). What is shocking though is how much he doesn’t actually want to be a winger when he’s playing.Woodleyclaret wrote:Now perhaps we can get our flying winger in as a replacement

Step up Dwight McNeill. These things sometimes happen for a reason. Sorry for Lennon of course, but his days as a top flight footballer have long since gone. In my opinion.

Re: Lennon facing surgery on knee!!!
Brady/Gudmundsson on the wings, McNeil on the bench.
Sounds stronger, not weaker. This might make us push the boat out to sign a much needed winger too. Not suggesting I’m happy he’s injured, but there are potential positives we have to look to.

Re: Lennon facing surgery on knee!!!
Jordan Jones was mentioned on another thread earlier, only 24 and is tipped for big things.
More pertinently is this Jones, who started out at Middlesbrough, is out of contract at the end of the season and free to talk to clubs outside of Scotland in January.
He plays on the left so could slot in if Aaron's out for a long period.
Swansea have been heavily linked in this window,so if we're interested we'll have to move quick.
If we're not going to buy then Dwight has to at least feature on the bench.

Integral for tucking in, keeping it narrow. Big miss.

We need to playing wide expansive football.Back pasding side passing and tucking in are an anathema to attacking football

I liked the Aberdeen winger who played against us, scoring a penalty in the first game. Cool under pressure and in possession. Don’t know how his season is going though.

Re: Lennon facing surgery on knee!!!
Gary Mackay-Steven is the player you're referring to,he's had a decent campaign, but he suffered serious concussion in the cup final against Celtic a couple of weeks ago,and hasn't played since. He's got 6 goals already which for a winger is a good return,i don't know how he fares tracking however.Darnhill Claret wrote:I liked the Aberdeen winger who played against us, scoring a penalty in the first game. Re: Lennon facing surgery on knee!!!
At least we tried an extra defender at the weekend so not such bad timing. We won't miss any attacking threat.conyoviejo wrote:He's been our best defender.. Will be missed
Re: Lennon facing surgery on knee!!!
Hope he makes a full recovery and is back before the end of the season.
