Hit by a bottle during the game tonight, totally unacceptable, but he was a silly boy for gesturing to the fans after the incident.

So you'd happily throw a bottle into an area that may contain kids in order to try and get back at the person that threw it at you? That's probably worse than the empty headed prat that threw it in the first place.

Absolutely disgusting behaviour from the Arsenal fans.

It should have been a brick.

Both Dele and the knob who throw the bottle have had a lucky escape.

The guy who threw it had he thrown a banana instead, he would have been guilty of being a racist and condemned by the usual virtue signallers with a high public profile as well as quite a few on here. As this guy has thrown a bottle he is guilty of being a knob and will be banned once identified.

Dele also escapes being classed as a victim of racial abuse, and is now just someone who had an object thrown at him by a knob.

Silly thing sending it back into the crowd but that's frustration. I remember a certain game (how can I forget) where a Mr Drogba decided to return a £1 coin, we managed to duck and the coin landed on the chap sat next to us. We ended up with the Police coming all the way up to Yorkshire for a statement. There could be repurcussions for Mr Alli.

So throwing a banana at a black player isn't racist? Right

Got a bit more respect for Mr Ali after this.

Thats exactly what you should do if someone threw a bottle at me and we were 2-0 up at our rivals ground.

I doubt I'll ever have any respect for Dele Alli but I get your point.

Don't like the arrogant scrote but was it a glass bottle or a soft plastic one pantomime stuff we seem to make so much out of things these days.
Yes you can't do it this day and age and I dont condone it whatsoever, no one would have bat an eyelid in the 70s 80s
We have moved on thankfully but i think it's something of nothing made more of the players reaction to the incident
Mr Barton reacted by saying things about how he thought thing in Burnley was and defused the situation in humor as things should be UTC

Should be? The onus is on the player when someone throws a bottle at them?

He's been hit on the head by a bottle of water thrown from a distance. It must have hurt, but he didn't over react and gave the 2 0 sign, which in the circumstances , was quite a restrained, but telling response.

I would loved to have see this board if this had happened to one of our players.

You’d be alright getting on with work and somebody lobs a bottle at you?

The ain’t exactly soft either. Sponge is soft. Or marshmallows. But not a plastic bottle.

Dele Alli is a gifted player but he is also a bloody liability. He's a cheat of the highest order. Doesn't excuse the bottle throwing though.

Tbf to Ali he’s brushed it off, it was a plastic empty bottle and the “ thrower “ will no doubt be banned for life and possibly lose his job etc .Thanfully the bottle wasn’t a racist bottle or all hell would have broken out.You can almost feel the slavering anticipation of the media who would have loved the bottle to have contained a rolled up message saying “ **** off you b*** ****”

Personally I find it very difficult to get overly excited about someone lobbing a plastic "bottle". I mean it's balloon-on-a-stick stuff when it coms to weaponry surely ? If it was full of water then much more serious I guess.

As a footballer- he seems to be back at his best (as per last season) after a bit of a dip in the early part of this season.

As a bloke- he's done some pretty ***tish things in the past but reacted pretty well in this instance I think. He didnt go down as if hit by a dangerous projectile and just made a valid point about the scoreline.
The person who threw the bottle was major stupid, Arsenal were fairly beaten and Alli did nowt to upset the fans that I could see (other than playing well for the opposition). There's every chance the culprit will be identified & banned.

Well done, you've managed to write a post which is largely unrelated to the details of the real incident, for reasons best known to you.

It happens a lot on this forum, that does.
