Super- being used as a prefix to almost any word.
I'm super-nervous about this super-exciting phrasing.

Re: Latest trending words
"on the cusp" is now widely (over)used. It should be used when there's a real major point of decision/diversion but its become much more mundane.... "I'm on the cusp of deciding whether to have tea or coffee" etc.
"garner" used to mean to proactively collect/gather things, now just used in stead of "get" ..... I garnered a lot of flies in my kitchen.
"sophomore" - apart from the original meaning of 2nd year student in a North American college, this word crops up frequently in record reviews (nowhere else).... Jimmy Bloggs's sophomore album came out yesterday.
"Jaw-dropping" - nearly every bit of tittle-tattle in the gutter press is labeled thus, my jaw has never remotely dropped at any of the stuff then described..

"ridiculous", used by football commentators to mean "outstandingly good", now downgraded to "very good", or occasionally even "quite good".

'fantastic'
The most overused word in the mundane punters lexicon. Alan Shearer's favourite.

I'd be surprised if they didn't put the word "so" before any sentence.basil6345789 wrote:Everytime I turn on the box someone says either humongous or footfall. What next?

Re: Latest trending words
"And let me just say" mainly used by disingenuous Politicians as sidetrack utterance.
