The board will know if we go down, we'll have a very good chance of coming back up. I doubt they'll be worried, unless it looks like we're not going to come back up next season.

The Championship has improved since we were last there... this 'group' will not get promoted

But then why want promotion if you know deep down your going down??
So basically there never going to push the boat out to keep us up! Or at least push us to the next level.

They dont know we're going down... They're just realistic and understand its a distinct possibility any season.

No offence, but it's bloody annoying when people say that every season. No, it hasn't.

The likes of Leeds, Derby, Norwich will go up and be replaced by Us, Huddersfield and somebody like Cardiff. It's not going to be any harder than the last time we were in there.

That's like a boxer going into the ring thinking I'm going to lose..
With that mentality we've lost already

2 of the 3 teams that came up from the championship are above us and the other one soon will be - can’t see any reason to think we’d be genuine contenders if we went down

I disagree. Somehow after 2 + years in the Premier League Dyche has managed to make the squad older and weaker than the squad which won the Championship . A team full of aging journeyman. We need a clear out and that has to include Dyche and with a bit of luck Garlick will follow him back home to London.

I'd love to know how old some members of our board are. A majority of them must be of pensionable age.

To be fair, if we couldn't buy a promotable team with all our winnings plus parachute payments it would definitely be time for a big clear out at the top.

I disagree. We'd have Vydra and Wood upfront - the top goalscorers in the Championship before we bought them.
Along with players such as Pope, Taylor, Tarks, Gibson, Lowton, Lennon (even at his age), JBG, Brady, Hendrick (a solid performer in the Championship) et al.

We'd have a stronger squad than the last time we were in the Championship.

You'll have to ask the posters who can see into the future :)

But I think they'd all stay for another season, yes.

From another thread.....

PutTheWheelieBinsOut wrote:This idea that we are going to do well in the Championship with this squad is fanciful and far fetched.

Lets compare the current first 11 with the Championship winning squad of 15/16 squad.

15/16 or 18/19

GK Heaton or Hart
L/B Ward or Taylor
R/B Lowton or Lowton
C/B Keane or Tarkowski
C/B Mee or Mee
MID Barton or Cork
MID Jones or Defour
MID Boyd or JBG
MID Arfield or Lennon
C/F Vokes or Vokes
C/F Gray or Wood

So sometimes I am comparing the same players (Mee, Lowton, Vokes) the 15/16 season version to the player they are today 18/19 season. The player I would prefer to have in my squad are in bold.

So to summarise Dyche has spent all this money whilst in the Premier League and I would argue the team actually is no better.
