Need A Leader & A Game Changer
Very interesting to read the board tonight. Lots of views and comments. I seem to witness the biggest shift yet to a mood of change as things simply are not working, neither is there any evidence of this happening
Don't forget we soon start playing the top 6 again (not that mid table are easy ie Everton/Watford)
Seems the biggest two roles we are missing are (a) a leader on the pitch and (b) a game changer. Sadly having gone from the likes of Joey and Marney we now have no one to drive us on and certainly no game changer ie Austin, Ings, Gray
Don't know what the new Director of Football is earning but maybe he is on the case already and identified these. Is that too much to ask
If he is reading there are some very useful full backs out there not getting a game ie Fuchs, Clyne, Baines

Re: Need A Leader & A Game Changer
Fuchs is still looking for the ball after his pen against Man City.

We need a new bloody manager, how about starting with that.
Someone not inept will do, before anyone asks for a name.

I don't think we sign players for their penalty-taking ability,it's not exactly a requirement at BFC.dougcollins wrote:Fuchs is still looking for the ball after his pen against Man City.

Fairly plausible we’d have an interest in Baines. 30 something, past his best, Aaron can put in a word.

I know a leader and a player who’s won us a host of points over the years.
Funnily enough he’s club captain as well.

Re: Need A Leader & A Game Changer
Just said on another thread that the ongoing ‘injuries’
to players who never really recovered from their last ones - Brady and Defour - plus niggly ones to johann and Lennon - has stripped us of our four most likely ‘assisters’.
Kind of agree that we’re missing a leader in the middle of the park. The only tactic at the minute is to turn things into a scrap. Although he barely made contribution today, McNeil perhaps needs to be considered if JBG isn’t fit.

You don't go from taking a club from Championship to Premiership twice and finishing seventh in the Prem....to "inept". Though after today's game, the alarm bells are ringing.
As I've said on these pages many times previously, before Dyche, "success' was measured in 40 points/safety in the Championship.
It's only since Dyche arrived that this club has started believe in itself.
New manager? Be careful what you wish for.

He was certainly inept today, and for the very most part of this season. The end of the first half today was absolutely laughable, a tactical graveyard.Billyblah wrote:You don't go from taking a club from Championship to Premiership twice and finishing seventh in the Prem....to "inept". And I know exactly what I'm wishing for. I'm wishing to see us playing football and not rugby.

Who is our leader in the team at the moment, who pushes the lads on ?
