Agree, in the circumstances it’s the only sensible option despite the need for improvement, the realistic target is staying in the division & it’s only 3pts call it 4 on GD from doing that.evensteadiereddie wrote:We stick with Dyche, whatever happens, for at least twelve months.

Re: Would you accept David Moyes as a new manager
Hmm. We are 3 points behind. We are struggling for confidence and goals. We cant keep a clean sheet for longer than 20 minutes. We have a shocking run in.
We are fast running out of time to turn it around. There have been some signs of the old Burnley recently but increasingly its looking more like performances against Liverpool and Arsenal are thr outliers. Yesterday was not dissimilar ti Newcastle except Everton are a better side and punished us.
West Ham is a crucial game and the attendance for Barnsely will be a key barometer. Poor numbers there should be a big warning for the club.

Would be interesting to see if dyche would do anything different if he could turn the clock back pre europa league, I would be most interested to see would he have signed Joe Hart, however to the question of David moyes, it's a resounding no from me, the premier league has evolved even over the last 2/3 years let alone 5/10, moyes even for a club such as us is yesterday's man imo.

Our board has been successful at recognising the right manager at the right time who on the face of it looks nowt special ala Coyle and Dyche so dont get too hung up on the well who would you replace him with malarkey as that is one area I trust our boardjlup1980 wrote:If Dyche goes I'd look at Jokanovic. That said if (and i dont think it will happen) Dyche was to leave Jokanovic would be the one I would want. The football Fulham played in the Championship for the previous 3 seasons was breathtaking and the best I have seen outside the topflight
As for Moyes...no for me he is further down the downward managerial spiral as Dyche appears to be on

Re: Would you accept David Moyes as a new manager
The next 2 games are crucial, if we don't pick up any points the situation needs to be accessed.
He looks to be running out of ideas and personal to turn this around and there is only him to blame.
I honestly think we need a new man at the helm next season no matter what the outcome of this. We really are not progressing on the field. We have little pace or flair in the squad and the Dyche style of football as really now run its course.
Possibly a new manager would give them a lift and be able to organise the defence better. A new man might be able to get better use out of the players we do have with flair, players who are capable of taking men on. Brady, Lennon and Taylor and who knows he might give Vydra a chance.

How much time would you allow him then? I agree that he's banked enough credit to be given time to get us out of this rut but, and it's a BIG but, this rut has now lasted 12 months. Every other PL and EFL club would have sacked him by now. We're running at about 15% win rate for 12 months. That's not a blip, it's a terminal problem.ClaretMoffitt wrote:agreed.

I'd get David Moyes in to the end of the season. See if he can get the squad firstly playing football instead of this dreaded Dycheball and secondly lets see if he can get us enough points to keep us up. At the end of the season we review it to see if we keep Moyes or move on to someone else.

How much are you going to throw out there as a figure?
Or does it need wiser investment?
Fulham spent £100 million in the summer and changed manager recently, that's working out well for them last I checked...
They've even got a striker that some people on here want at Burnley.

Re: Would you accept David Moyes as a new manager
Not for me. IF Dyche goes. And i hope he doesnt. I hope he turns it round and summer is a huge lesson,if he goes I would like us to look at:
Lampard
Gerrard
Barton
All young managers with fresh ideas. All experienced at the top level. All leaders on and off the field. All pretty clued up. All with excellent contacts in the game (and even media which can help) and most importantly all doing pretty well in their first jobs in cases exceeding expectation all three with limited budgets.
They also seem to be doing pretty well with the loan system.

The Fulham Board shot themselves in the foot over the summer and made Jokanovic the scapegoat.
It's well known that Jokanovic didn't want most of the players the Board signed; they were signed behind his back whether they were needed or not. If reports are to be believed, the only player he really wanted to sign was Mitrovic.
We talk on here about the possible negative impact Joe Hart has had in our squad and he's only one player; we can only guess at the impact a dozen or so signings must have had on the Fulham players who won them promotion.
He's a good manager. He's shown that at both Watford and Fulham. I'm not saying he's the answer but I'd much rather give him a try than the likes of Moyes, Pardew etc etc!
Re: Would you accept David Moyes as a new manager
Investment won't happen. We all know that. The Board wouldn't spend when we were at our strongest last summer so they sure as hell won't sign anyone when we're at our weakest!ElectroClaret wrote:It isn't just time though, is it? Re: Would you accept David Moyes as a new manager
Yes to Moyes from me if circumstances end up that way.
But also hoping for 4 points from next 2 games and a bit of a rally for Dyche.

Re: Would you accept David Moyes as a new manager
I would get Moyes in if results don't pick up in the next week. Moyes knows the club and he watches the team on a regular basis and is an experienced manager.
He has made some bad decisions since he left Everton. United, Sunderland and moving to Spain. Those clubs were the right clubs at the wrong time.
He is well respected in football and has plenty of contacts. I would not hesitate in giving him the job until the end of season then reviewing his contract in June

If Dyche were to go and David Moyes was appointed I would get behind him and hope our current plight was improved.
My 'acceptance' has no bearing whatsoever on club business, I don't pay his wages and I've already got a season ticket.

Re: Would you accept David Moyes as a new manager
Three key games coming up. No points and I feel that any credibility the manager currently has will be totally negated. Then there's the FA Cup tie, versus lower league opposition but evidently 'up for t' cup with their allocation sold out. It should be a win for us though, shouldn't it? Worryingly we all know that not to be the case. I'm looking at these fixtures and just wondering what is the least we could get from them to prevent the intensity against the manager reaching unprecedented levels.
As someone posted above if we were to be relegated I wouldn't be surprised to see Joey Barton being touted for the managerial seat.

Nothing more than conjecture from me, that's all. His recent connections with us would have the media all over it. Sean Dyche wasn't 'pulling up any trees' when he came to us and I recall the general consensus on his appointment was one of mild indifference.
