He's not shone at all, but if we are going to change things up he's got as much chance of playing as anybody else.

As opposed to Wood? Boxing Day was Sam’s worst game for an age, but he is our most intelligent striker, and usually gets the best out of others

I find that idea that Garlick went out of his way to sign a player Dyche didn't want to be total and utter bullsh1t to be honest, but I'd be open to being proved wrong...
It’s obvious to anyone who can think for themselves
You only have to look at the facts
Dyche doesn’t rate him , I think Vydras cameos prove Dyche right .

Ask any Derby fan and they'll tell you he's a player who comes alive in the final third. I can only assume he's deemed surplus to requirements at the moment due to the fact we never have the ball in the final third.

He has not impressed me at all in his sub appearances (was very poor against Arsenal), and you would have to think that Dyche has assessed him in training and doesn't feel he is good enough. That calls a lot of questions over his signing/who actually signed him.

What I would say is, after the Everton game, even if he hasn't impressed he needs to be given a shot now. The eleven we are putting out (and this is the same whether you mix/match Vokes and Wood) is going down. We need to try an alternative and he is at least a different player to the other three.

Probably accurate. I've got a mate who supports Derby and he said that Vydra was decent but needed the team setting up around him.

Spot on. If he doesn't get a decent run out vs West Ham I don't know what he does next. You wouldn't be at all surprised if he went out on loan in January.

I could be wrong ,but maybe he's just not good enough.

When i think about it most strikers that make the step-up from Premier League to Championship tend to go up with their respective club(s). I'm struggling to think of many that are sold from a Championship club straight to a Premier league club and actually do well.

Maybe he isn't, but surely it's worth giving the lad a chance? It's not like the other 3 strikers are pulling up any trees is it.

Vydra might not be strong enough, but

If he had played every game, how many goals would he have by now

You don’t have to be amazingly strong to play in the premier league. And no I’m not comparing his footbaliing ability to these players, just his strength, so Bernardo Silva, Eriksen, Mata, Winks, Bernard, Moutinho just to make a few, all players who aren’t exactly beefed up, yet manage in this league to play football

Vokes was poor on boxing day , but he normally offers an Ariel threat wood has offered nowt , the back 3 of everton won everything all game vokes should have been off at half time and the ball played in the deck to vydra

I am not sure about people judging him for what happened at Arsenal.. I know he lost control of the ball a couple of times, but he also made 2 cracking runs, one was unfairly judged offside and one he was judged to have fouled the defender whom he completely tricked and fell over whilst trying to lean on him. These runs and pace are something we have been seriously lacking, personally I would love to see a lot more of him with a run in the first team and see what he has to offer.

Dont let tbeir skill and size/frame fool you. Theyre all pretty strong. Ryan Giggs looked like he had bothing on him but strong as an ox. This league is physical and quick - you need to be a real athlete to play in it effectively.
