Hart Pope last season reminder of the difference
Well worth a read - has Hart improved that much? Makes a very sobering comparison.

Yay another thread about Hart...
Re: Hart Pope last season reminder of the difference
Good article. We’ve tried everything else now, if Pope is fit he should start. We have nothing to lose.

Re: Hart Pope last season reminder of the difference
In all this discussion about coming out for crosses I think this article is interesting as it shows that Pope was a much better shot stopper that Hart. Something that gets overlooked in most threads Hart is perhaps not the shot stopper people give him credit for.

Heaton's fit, Lindegaard is fit, Pope is heading towards fitness. If you are so desperate for a change in goal then why not Heaton?Steddyman wrote:if Pope is fit he should start

If Pope isn't ready then Heaton it is I guess. Maybe harsh on Hart but something has to change and that is about the only thing not tried yet.

Re: Hart Pope last season reminder of the difference
Didn't see this thread so started another as we didn't have enough goalkeeper threads . My main point on the thread was that the only difference in personnel this year is the Hart pope swap , ok the teams not performing well and wasn't at the back end of last season but pope was keeping us in games , I was a big Hart fan and was pleased when he came but his style does not suit a team that allows so many high balls into the box so for me it's pope asap

Re: Hart Pope last season reminder of the difference
Because the perceived reason for our woes is Hart staying rooted to his line and not coming for crosses. The major criticism of Heaton has been? That he stays rooted to his line and doesn't come for crosses. Pope is the only one our keepers that will come for a cross. If you want a change in keepng style, Heaton for Hart won't provide it.ClaretTony wrote:Heaton's fit, Lindegaard is fit, Pope is heading towards fitness. We didn't concede goals like this when Heaton played. He's a totally different type of goalkeeper to Hart.Herts Clarets wrote:Because the perceived reason for our woes is Hart staying rooted to his line and not coming for crosses. The one guarantee is a change of keeper on Sunday.

How can you guarantee that?IanMcL wrote:The one guarantee is a change of keeper on Sunday.

Re: Hart Pope last season reminder of the difference
I said perceived. If we are wanting a keeper to be coming off his line for crosses, Heaton is not that keeper. If it is felt that Heaton is a better option than Hart then by all means make the change. Personally I would give Hart a rest on Sunday.ClaretTony wrote:We didn't concede goals like this when Heaton played. He's a totally different type of goalkeeper to Hart.
