Cardiff.
Re: Today's Footy
I remember we celebrated a point at Leicester like we’d just bagged the Europa League. Cardiff go there and get a win.
Worse team with less spending power than us this season, but went into it with a plan, and play with a plan. Different level really.

We at least have to show some fight tomorrow, won't be an easy game, but another lacklustre display will play into Huddersfield plans and if we lose there, well the fat lady will be warming her vocal chords unfortunately

Looking very bleak for us and Huddersfield. Cardiff aren't a good side but they have that first season buzz about them where every game is a cup final. They also look like they'd run through a brick wall for Warnock, unlike our lads with Dyche these days.

Re: Today's Footy
If we need to rely on newly promoted Cardiff to be beaten by a midtable club, then we deserve what’s coming to us.

Starting to look like we need to take 9 points from West Ham, Fulham and Huddersfield.
The sad fact is I think we’ll be lucky to get 2 points. Call me a defeatist but I think the lights are flickering already, and they’ll be fully out by the end of January.

Re: Today's Footy
Some drama queens on here. No point being gloomy about our position following today’s results. We need to pick up enough points between now and the end of the season. Today’s results will make little difference. We need to get to 36/37 points to give ourselves a fighting chance. It’s in our hands and if we don’t do it we have no one else to blame.

Big Burnley - Leeds rivalry in my family, always has been, both ways. About equidistant the football grounds where I came from.

Re: Today's Footy
We need 7 wins and a couple of draws from 19 games.
If we can pick up 3 of those wins in the next 4 matches then it suddenly looks a whole lot more rosey. Forget the other sides, they weren’t playing the top teams so results can go either way. We have to beat those around us. We also could do with nicking a draw or two in games we wouldn’t normally expect to in any season.

Re: Today's Footy
I’m tempted to agree. Absolutely need to not lose against Fulham and Huddersfield. A minimum of 4 points from those 3 games. And even then, that might not be enough. Today has really hit home how much trouble we are in. I’m beginning to go from concerned, to extremely worriedjedi_master wrote:Starting to look like we need to take 9 points from West Ham, Fulham and Huddersfield.

Re: Today's Footy
Yep, we look incapable of getting 38 points, so the rest is irrelivent .jrgbfc wrote:No one to blame but ourselves for our current predicament I'm afraid.
The only possible bonus is it looks like we may have to go at teams and try and win the game from the off.
The Huddersfield game has the makings of being a great end to end game.
Genuinely feel SD has 2 games to save his job.
As other than the actual results, the approach/performance/selection/tactics/players willingness may well be the nails in his coffin.
He can't set up to try and win 1-0 in the next 2 games IMO
Re: Today's Footy
12 points from 19. Anyone who thinks we can get out of the mess is in dreamland.
Any other season and we'd be well adrift by now. Luckily there are others sides who are really quite poor too, but today's results have done away with some of that reasoning.

I thought if we had two poor transfer windows, last Jan and last summer - no disrespect to the guys we've signed - but, no reason why we should think the squad we had for the first 19 games of 2017/18 is a weaker squad than the one we've got now - with full allowance for injuries in both seasons.
It's how we play tomorrow that will count, not how other teams have performed today.
