Bit radical but has to be done

Post by Vintage Claret » Sun Dec 30, 2018 11:10 am

Time for a change in my home match day superstitions as they are just not helping us win games anymore :-(

The lucky BFC socks, the lucky BFC scarf and hat, the entering into the ground via even numbered turnstiles only, all has to go I'm afraid.

It won"t feel right today turning up in ordinary socks, different scarf and entering via turnstile 23 but desperate times require desperate measures.

Anyone else changing their match day rituals to try and help the cause? :-)

Ditto

Family meal means that I can't go. We have a fairly good record when I don't turn up so here's hoping!

Turnstile 23 might be a good omen today as the 23 undefeated started after boxing day.

Not in my eyes, that clip today at the head of IanMcL's match thread made this old man feel very happy, or alternatively, this happy man feel very old, I haven't quite decided which !!

I did. And I wore different socks. And I decided not to take my coat. And I remained pessimistic throughout. I had a miserable afternoon. You are all welcome. I’m going to continue and predict a 6-0 loss on Wednesday

Actually I should have put turnstile 27 in my OP not 23 otherwise I'd have been watching from the JM stand whereas my season ticket is in the JHL :)

Anyway, the change worked, we clearly don't need to spend 50 mill on players in the January transfer window after all, I'll just ditch the scarf and hat, wear my new lucky socks and enter through an odd numbered turnstile to guarantee a Burnley win from now on

Same for me, different, sweater, watch, kecks, even drove there in a different car, and it WORKED.
But the dilemma is, do I stick with my new 'lucky' garb, or, to stay lucky, do I have to change everything for each match.
Answers on a postcard to the usual address.

Hmm, that's a good question actually, I'll let you know after the Fulham game ;)

I changed my scarf. Left my Ralph Lauren scarf at home and wore my Burnley one, it worked and shall wear it at Huddersfield

Wore new BFC socks today and it worked :D
I was bought a pack of two for Christmas. I wore the 1st pair on Boxing day :o
They're both the same colour so how do I now know which are which, when they've been in the sock drawer :?

My Grandchildren bought me 3 pairs of socks to replace my old "lucky socks" for Christmas.
Wore the 1st pair Boxing day "Claret with blue toe tips and blue tops" they are now at bottom of sock draw.
Yesterday was wearing the "Claret and Blue (broad) stripes" hmmmm will wear them again Saturday and see if the luck is with them.
Third pair are "Claret and Blue (Narrow) stripes" so am well covered

My advice is wear a pair and if we lose bin them or sew a tag to identify them......
