The Austin save for me was very special. We just happened to have the best possible view of it and I just couldn't see how on earth he could save it.

Watford was on my mind but left it for ‘other’. Was a top save as he was going the other way and had to readjust

I don't see it, unless I'm missing something. It might be a mod only option.jdrobbo wrote:Not sure Frank. I clicked ‘Poll Creation’ below the subject box
I wonder if this is something that would add to the board if everybody had the feature - could you raise it with Tony as they can be fun.
Re: Which was Tom Heaton’s Greatest Save?
Austin header was the best save I have ever seen from a Burnley keeper.
United more iconic, but Southampton I genuinely couldn’t believe how he saved it

Re: Which was Tom Heaton’s Greatest Save?
I said it at the time but that save at Southampton was up there with the greatest saves I have seen from any keeper ever. Banksesque from Pele in 1970. The Zlatan one was good but had an element of luck about it, Southampton was out of this world brilliance.

100% agree Herts - I know we don't always agree on goalkeepers (Hansbury v Neenan) but Tom's save that day was something else.Herts Clarets wrote:I said it at the time but that save at Southampton was up there with the greatest saves I have seen from any keeper ever. Tony, is allowing all posters the option to create polls something you've considered, or do you think it could be abused with too many drowning the board?ClaretTony wrote:100% agree Herts - I know we don't always agree on goalkeepers (Hansbury v Neenan) but Tom's save that day was something else.

Re: Which was Tom Heaton’s Greatest Save?
His greatest save today was collecting the cross under pressure in the very same way he got injured. It just screamed out that he's back.

Just imagine the Brexit polls, the " Who's right, Ringo or IT ? " polls, the " We're not playing well, should Sean resign ? " polls, ad nauseum ...

Zlatan at Old Trafford. It won us a point. The Austin one was just as fine, but really just helped keep the score down.

Re: Which was Tom Heaton’s Greatest Save?
The Zlatan save whilst excellent was purely a case of doing the starfish and getting something in the way. Todays save was a definite movement of his hand to get it up and onto the bar but the Austin save beats them all. Speed, agility and strong hand, unbelievable Jeff.
Zlatan and Charlie 1&2, Deeney at 4. See link

Re: Which was Tom Heaton’s Greatest Save?
Another for the Austin save.
His 'Starfish' one at OT was good, but yesterdays effort could well be the runner up to the one off Charlie.

Re: Which was Tom Heaton’s Greatest Save?
Ultimately it did just keep the score down but I think it was 0-0 at the time. I just think, as a save, it was as good as anything I'm ever likely to see.Lord Beamish wrote:Zlatan at Old Trafford. It won us a point. The Austin one was just as fine, but really just helped keep the score down.

What I like about Tom is he never ******** his defence after making a great save, like Pickford and others do. Never really understood what that's about.

Couldn’t agree more. There are saves keepers make that they don’t know much about; them just make themselves big and trust their luck. Very different to there being a reaction and movement to the ball.piston broke wrote:The Zlatan save whilst excellent was purely a case of doing the starfish and getting something in the way. Re: Which was Tom Heaton’s Greatest Save?
Always liked the Rondon save myself, out of the three I've gone for Austin.
