I can't see us getting him, as Wolves and Crystal Palace also interested.

Isn’t he on loan at Villa for the season?

The article says that they are looking to recall him from his loan at Villa because of the interest being shown in himjedi_master wrote:Isn’t he on loan at Villa for the season?

Also you can still sell an asset that's on loan somewhere else, like Chelsea trying to sign Higuaín from Juventus who is on loan to AC Milan for the year.
Abraham didn't pull up any trees in the premier league last time but is a year older and experienced. Done alright in a very attacking Villa side and we need a pacy striker. I would only consider if we bought him.

14 goals in 19 games for Villa, impressive.

Are you kidding? He’s dogga
Re: Tammy Abraham
Ffs he's only 21 and scored nearly a goal every two games. He got nearly 50 goals and has represented England at pretty much every level. Might not rate him highly but describing him as dogga is a joke.Garnerssoap wrote:Are you kidding? He’s dogga

Wouldn't mind us signing him .... also Murphy from Cardiff would be a great left sided player wing/wingback....

Re: Tammy Abraham
Little to no chance.
He would have a far greater chance of booking game time at Palace or even Huddersfield.
At the moment he is doing very well in the Championship and making regular match appearances. I can't see him giving that up to come and sit on our bench for the remainder of the season.
I can only see him playing a part as a backup winger here. If we are interested then we must surely be last in line, behind Aston Villa.

Re: Tammy Abraham
Chelsea want fortunes. He’s on big bonuses at Villa. But it could yet be a long window for that one. When six clubs want Solanke ... there’s not many strikers out there.
From Alan Nixon. We wouldn't pay his wages I guess.

Re: Tammy Abraham
We have been saying it for ages, but not having a pacey option up front really does limit us. It almost becomes irrelevant at times how good the player is, as long as they are fast, because of the effect it has on the opposition’s defensive starting position. I think there are much better players out there than Tammy Abraham, but if he is the option available, sign him up

Why would a centre forward, who has never played as a winger, potentially come to Burnley as a backup winger when our current forwards aren't really up to it at this level?Long Time Lurker wrote:I can only see him playing a part as a backup winger here. So which striker, that is a vaguely realistic signing for us, do you think we should be looking to bring in for =<£60k per week? I'm sure there are loads of world class guys out there willing to move for that much per week!Woodleyclaret wrote:Bag of crap on £55grand a week

Re: Tammy Abraham
Think he would give us something different.
Doubt he would choose us though.
Villa still got great chance of going and given how well he has played for them not sure why he would want to look elsewhere

Re: Tammy Abraham
Firstly I don't rate him ( from the dozen or so games I've seen him )
But also not sure he suits our style either.
If he hasn't anyone to do a silly dance/handshake with him after/if he scores, it might play a part in his commitment to find the net...

Premiership players are preferable to championship ones.Steve-Harpers-perm wrote:Yes we should of course be targeting top end premier league players.
Especially when this player in question is so raw he makes Andre grey look cultured.
There’s always European players and further afield to look at.
Re: Tammy Abraham
It's Premier League. Premiership is rugby union and Scottish football.
I don't particularly rate Abraham but he's an athlete and someone to run the channels with a bit of pace would be good.

Re: Tammy Abraham
He certainly has potential and has found the net more regularly for Villa albeit at a lower level than he did for Swansea. Abrahams can run the channels and get in behind a defence (so could Vydra!) but both are unproven and have flattered to deceive a little at this level. If we're not careful we'll end up with yet more strikers who won't see much game time. If we really are bringing in another striker I would prefer to let one or two leave and sign someone of real quality who can make a difference. That costs, but goals do!

Re: Tammy Abraham
Exactly the type of player we should be targetting.
Young.
English.
Good goalscoring record especially at championship level. Which is arguably a tougher league for youngsters.
Quick.
Plenty of potential.
Opportunity to make money on him.
Total opposite to the profile of strikers we have. Id be very happy with this.

Scored after having it put on a plate for him after some great play by John McGinn. Didn't even acknowledge the other player but just milked the applause himself. Doesn't strike me as a team player you would want in a relegation scrap.ElectroClaret wrote:He's just scored...

His second wasn't much different, porous defending, quality play in the set up to pick him out, tap it in the net, milk the applause.
Peach of a shot from Luke Freeman for the first by QPR and the second by Eze was well placed.

Re: Tammy Abraham
Leaving aside whether we've got any chance of beating off the competition, the fact that signing a 21 year old striker - who has played just one season in the top flight and has a phenomenal goalscoring record in the Championship and has been widely considered to be a long-term England prospect - is being criticised on any level, particularly on the simplistic basis he'd be coming in from the Championship, shows just how mental the transfer debate has become.
