Huddersfield parking.
Huddersfield parking.
Anyone got any tips for parking. I need to be able to get away quickly after the game and just wondered if anyone had previous experience of parking there. I normally go on the train but will be driving tomorrow.

Re: Huddersfield parking.
The ground itself is a nightmare. With only one way in and out seemingly.
I parked about 20 mins away. Possibly same as above. And was away in no time.

Re: Huddersfield parking.
Near the railway station, there is a bit of scrubland where you can park for a few quid, it’s 15 minutes walk, I have used it twice before and it no problem,
It’s on Fitzwilliam Street

Come in from Leeds Rd for a quick get away
Re: Huddersfield parking.
We parked on a side street where Halifax road meets Bradford road the last time we went (championship winning season) bit of a walk up the hill after the game but we got away quickly

Re: Huddersfield parking.
Lots of off street parking but a good 20 minute walk away. Avoid parking near the ground it takes ages to get away after the match. Once you arrive at the car you should be on the m62 within 5 minutes

Re: Huddersfield parking.
We parked down the road last year. On some companies car park about 5-10 minutes walk. It’s not an easy ground to get away from quickly.
Re: Huddersfield parking.
We parked up by the Slubbers Arms (junction of Halifax old road and Bradford Road) had a decent pint then took the 15/20min walk down to ground but a quick get away once at the car after.

This is the best place to park for a quick getaway ofter the game. Avoids all the traffic chaos on Leeds road...KlyBfc wrote:We parked up by the Slubbers Arms (junction of Halifax old road and Bradford Road) had a decent pint then took the 15/20min walk down to ground but a quick get away once at the car after.

You might have a bit of a wait to get away from there. They shut gasworks Street /junction with St Andrews Road after the gamestrayclaret wrote:Cheers for this, just booked in the the Gasworks CP, saves messing about and I am told points me in the right direction to get back to the M1

Re: Huddersfield parking.
If you're heading to the M1 you'll be better off parking on St Andrews Road. The Turnbridge WMC is probably a better option for you. You'll get a clear run away to the M1 from there.strayclaret wrote:Cheers for this, just booked in the the Gasworks CP, saves messing about and I am told points me in the right direction to get back to the M1

Re: Huddersfield parking.
If you're coming from the M1 I'd suggest the St Andrews Road area. There's a section of on street parking towards Gasworks Street which is available free after 6, but it fills up quickly.
If you're coming from the M62 leave at junction 24 and head down Grimescar Road rather than the main road into town. Its a country lane but brings you out at the Slubbers. Park near there.
Avoid the Leeds road area. Its a nightmare after the game. Don't park on the B&Q. You'll take an age to get away and probably get fined for the pleasure.
If you're drinking in town I'd park on Fitzwilliam Street behind the railway station.

I'm heading in via Howarth, Brighouse way so where would you recommend Transpennine?

Re: Huddersfield parking.
From Brighouse, straight down Bradford Road towards Hudds. The junction with Willow Lane/Halifax Old Road traffic lights. Turn right there and that's where the Slubbers Arms pub is. Loads of street parking there.claretdj wrote:I'm heading in via Howarth, Brighouse way so where would you recommend Transpennine?

Re: Huddersfield parking.
Reading this thread, I think it would be a good idea to resurrect the info thread for away games where people can ask for or give advice on travel, parking, places to eat and drink etc. We used to do it and it proved useful for us more than once re parking.
