Gabbiadini available from Southampton
Gabbiadini available from Southampton
Not saying we should sign him, just think it's interesting that he's been made available, especially given the facts that Ings / Austin are injury prone and Shane Long couldn't hit a cows arse with a banjo. He looked like a masterstroke of a signing when he first arrived but he's been quite poor since. Having said that, he took his goal on the Turf very well last season.

Strange one this.
Looked very talented when he first came, maybe doesn't work hard enough as a lone striker?

On a fair whack you would imagine, for uncertain return

Technically very good. And knows where the net is. But has gone off the boil. Not surprised with Hughes as manager and lots of chopping and changing.
Would definitely be a good signing.

Re: Gabbiadini available from Southampton
Not saying we should sign him in particular, but it's players out of favour/off the boil/lost confidence that represent potential value with lesser chance of being priced out. More of a risk perhaps, but we need players with more ability than we have in the squad. Aside from improving scouting networks, this is another way.cricketfieldclarets wrote:Technically very good. Re: Gabbiadini available from Southampton
They forked out 16 million for him, shows not every European signing is a success,he had a big impact in 2016-17,including a brace in the EFL Cup Final, but hasn't shown much since,i noticed he only averages 1 in 5 for his whole Saints career, and he moved a lot in Italy, not convinced he's an improvement on what we've got,i'd only be interested if we moved a forward out.

1) We hardly need a forward unless 1/2 are leaving
2) Loan with option to buy would be the most risk i'd be happy with in case he is bobbins for us too

There's a lad by the name of Defoe available just a few miles further down the road who fits the Dyche profile

Why sign him when he does't score goals now.

Defoe is 36 now. Think Bournemouth might struggle to get him off the payroll.jojomk1 wrote:There's a lad by the name of Defoe available just a few miles further down the road who fits the Dyche profile

Spoke to a Leeds fan today who seemed to think he was on his way there (defoe). It would be a good signing for them. A bit like us with Ian Wright many years ago.
Re: Gabbiadini available from Southampton
I’d take Defoe till the end of the season. Class!

Re: Gabbiadini available from Southampton
The problem with Defoe is that we wont create anywhere near enough chances for him. That said he doesnt need many.
An excellent player down the years but if he is struggling to play and score for Bournemouth unfortunately not the sort of player that we should be looking at with our style.
That isnt a criticism just a reality.
